  This hotel is so over priced for the service and quality you receive. I had sweet wrappers and dirt on the floor, the bathroom taps were in desperate need of cleaning. The charge you a daily TV connection charge even if you do not turn the TV on! The mini bar was only stocked on my last day. They charge you to use their sauna / spa, and the drinks are far higher than you would pay in London.

  This hotel has the best location in Calcutta right on park street, and when u enter from the street u r greeted by the psychedellic tv screens on the wall. The check in was efficient with no problems, rooms although at this price don't fire u up, but bcoz of the prices. I had the best orientel meal ever atheir resteurent zen an amazing exp.

  The service was very good and nothing left to be desired, I did tried their spa which again was one of the best i have ever tried but again a bit pricey. Breakfst buffet which was poor to say the least.

  Spent a good hour in the lobby trying to check in - but all the computers were down - and when we finally got to the room, we couldn't relax or unwind because of the pulsing guitars and drums from the band loudly playing downstairs.

  Within five minutes of entering the lobby of the hotel, I knew I wanted out. The room smelled like mildew and mold - and there were water stains, dust and a leaking toilet in our room. We tried switching rooms, but they moved us to something worse - and equally as disgusting. The towels looked worn and tattered, the soap and tolietries looked used -(bath gel and shampoo were half empty) - and the purified bottled water bottles from "Aquafina" were clearly filled with tap water since all the seals were broken! If we could have switched hotels, we would of, but we were locked in to stay for three nights due to the awful reservation policy.

  By now we had 'had enough' of India so retreated to the aircon, double glazed, soft bed, expense of the Park. The 2 restaurants we tried were good although the cafe where you get breakfast could have been better - service standards let it down.

  Can't ask for a better location in Kolkata. If you can get a room there for 80 or less, its a great place.

  I got a Bed, Air Conditioning, an LCD TV and a private Loo. A room-safe that worked (the one in my room was damaged. I asked the reception to get it fixed, but they never got it fixed). Ok, no carpeting, but at least room slippers.

  Park Hotel is an excellent hotel in the heart of Kolkata. The service standards are world class with attentive wait staff, room service, housekeeping, etc. Complimentary driver and car was provided at the airport to whisk me through the complicated roads of Kolkata to the hotel. The room is cosy with study table and sofa set with coffee table. Daily weddings held here so every evening, the entire lobby and 1st floor would be filled with gaily dressed guests. Bumped into former soccer manager and indian movie director (said my local hosts). All in all, a very wonderful stay made even better by the staff of the hotel.

  The room was very comfortable with a king size bed, TV, mini bar and the bathroom was also large and clean. The staff were always very friendly and extremely helpful. A great selection on the buffet and the best Dosa (southern Indian speciality) we had.

  The only issue that we had with the room was the hot water - at times their was none.

  First of all, it has the best location for those who want to be in the thick of things, and at the same time, the rooms are quiet for a good night's rest. It has a full gym and pool for members, and some well-heeled locals even come to swim etc. Lovely staff, location, prime for city slickers.

  The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. We were just expecting a few nibbles but breakfast is a lovely continental spread with cheeses, fruits, etc. The pool is lovely, not as big as the Oberoi next door but more luxurious. We paid $150 per night for a room on the luxury level which we thought excellent value.
