The Palms Hotel & Spa

The location is perfect, specially when traveling with kids, as you are close to all the action, but at the same time away from it, making it the perfect setting for a family vacation.

The location is quieter at night, far enough from all the South Beach party vibe, but not too far.

A vacant high rise is covered in Ritz Carlton posters advertising the new location.

The hotel is a very convenient $20 taxi trip from the airport and it is also in a good location for getting a bus to Aventura Mall; $1.

The rooms are tiny (not like what they appear online), decor is old and outdated, bathrooms are small and old (the toilet is a standard public restroom toilet), there is no balcony, no water by the bed and no turn down service.

The room itself was average, with no coffee maker and the bathroom is small, but the bed & bedding were WONDERFUL.

1) Some of my guests made reservations for a double room, but when they went to their rooms there was one king sized bed.

We stayed in a 1 bed suite and there was loads of room.

The beds were comfy (although sofa bed getting on a bit) and the bathroom stuffed full of nice aveda things all of which came home with me.

The bar is lovely and the food in the restaurant is very good.

The restaurant, bar and shop are very expensive but you are in Miami.

The on site restaurant served a great breakfast and lunch (dined out for dinner).

There is an outdoor poolside restaurant which has decent food as well as a poolside bar.

Bar is very pleasant and the breakfast is marvelous.

Service in the bars and restaurant was good, however we did find the staff on reception, quite difficult and not very accommodating, which is unusual for Florida.

The room was serviced to a high standard the bell staff were always willing to offer assistance I can not praise them highly enough for their outstanding service.

Just FYI: Beware of the car parking fee that 17 dollars per day that they didnt tell us ahead of time.

The elevators were very slow - (I now know that sofas by the elevator doors on each floor is a bad sign).

Ocean Front, Gym, Very Private Pool, Private beach, Beach bars, Lounge, Gift Shop, MiniBar, Clean Rooms, A + service, about 15 minutes walking distance to the hot spots of Sobe (downtown art deco district, clubs, restaurants, etc.

I liked the free wireless internet since I had some business to attend to.

Internet Access - Although the wireless is nice everywhere, we didn't bring a laptop because it was a vacation, so when we did need internet access, they charge 6.

The linens were clean and bathroom was also spotless.

A lot of people on this website complained about the bathroom being small, but I thought it was a decent size and more importantly it was VERY clean.
