We stayed when the hotel had an offer that included Dinner B&B in the B&B only rate which was good value for money considering the food we ate.

A perfect location for a romatic or relaxing break!

Ideal for exploring the surrounding area and very comfortable hotel excellant location would stay again.

The location was perfect and decor were lovely.

Fantastic location and we liked the position of the hotel.

I went to a wedding at the Matara Centre about 20 minutes away and the hotel was very welcoming.

Very very comfy bed, the bar is well-stocked and the toilet seat didn't fit properly.

We stayed in a room with a four poster bed at the front of the hotel overlooking the Abbey.

The room was simple but clean (great linen on the bed) and included all the usual extras.

The people in the dining room were pleasant and one of the housekeeping staff was kind enough to make up a bed with a sheet and blanket, replacing the heavy duvet, which my husband and I found too warm.

Our bed was huge and the food was wonderful.

Breakfast was fine except that guests were backed up in the bar area and the hotel reception rooms were absolutely gorgeous.

We were there for a group meeting & dinner and sat in the public bar area adjacent to the restaurant for a pre-dinner drink.

The reception areas, lounges and dining rooms are classily maintained and the food is of much better than average standard (although I did only have the breakfast).

The bar is well-stocked, the toilet seat didn't fit properly and the food is of much better than average standard.

A beautiful bathroom, we also liked the food in the restaurant.

Additionally attentive unobtrusive staff and the receptionist was extremely accommodating.

Ideal location for exploring this area of the Cotswolds, relaxed friendly place and the service from every member of staff was spot on - attentive.

We happened to mention this to the receptionist when we arrived, and when we returned to our room after sampling a cream tea in one of the hotel's lounges, we found a card from the hotel staff wishing us a happy anniversary!

The service from every member of staff was spot on - attentive but not intrusive, and the food on both nights was of the highest standard.

On the other hand, the reception staff was unfriendly and unhelpful.

Large sittng area, fantastic stay and very helpful staff sensitive to requests.

Reception friendly and helpful, clean simple room.

Clean Sheets Good Bath and excellent food.

When we arrived at the Old Bell, we were disappointed to see that our superior room was dilapidated and not too clean.

Our room was nice and clean and homely but a little smaller than we imagined from the brochure.

    Surroundings were superb, we were there because of a family function in a near by village and the whole ambience of the hotel was wonderful. The building itself was really nice, staff Were Good and the receptionist was extremely accommodating. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was lovely also and dinner on the first night was somewhat spoiled by the presence of a large.

    Very nice public areas, the village of Malmesbury has wonderful shope and beautiful place in a lovely old town. Additionally attentive unobtrusive staff and the receptionist was extremely accommodating. Both rooms were huge and the food was of a good standard.

    Bar Was Small and we were swamped by a large party in for dinner on Saturday night.

    The location was great and our hotel room was fine. The staff were excellent and the bath had seen much better days. The food was superb and both meals were very good--especially the dinner.

    The location is excellent and every other attraction in Malmesbury is within walking distance. Furthermore the hotel is lovely, superb level of professionalism of every member of staff encountered and the bedroom had a strong smell of urine. The bar is well-stocked, the toilet seat didn't fit properly and the food is of much better than average standard.
