2) neighborhood - the location is near the Convention Center and pleasantly walkable to the energetic Chinatown district and central DC.

location, the Hotel is a beautiful old mansion and the staff is capable and friendly.

The location was perfect an the staff was extremely kind and helpful, 3) room decor was charming.

Short walk to two Metro lines; not far from Chinatown.

About 5 mins to Metro Central and i found the hotel to have amazing character.

There is not a comfortable chair in the room and you can only watch TV when you are in bed.

When you have the armoire open so that you can see the TV, you cannot walk between it and the bed; hence you cannot get to the bathroom.

Lovely antique furniture but the TV is in an armoire that faces the windows at the foot of the bed, not the bed.

Although the room was lovely and the bed comfortable, positive attributes ended there.

Great ambiance -- more like a bed & breakfast with cable and internet.

We arranged a small family wedding ceremony for 40, with cocktail hour in the drawing room and a sit down meal in the excellent restaurant (a hidden jewel for a cozy meal in a quiet, gentile setting).

And I didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant because of my meeting schedule, but I hope to try it during my next stay!

2) the Morrison-Clark restaurant is beyond compare in terms of meals I had there and with room service.

The complimentary breakfast was simple but well-presented in their dining room.

Wonderful and responsive staff, free internet, breakfast buffet was good--very fresh bagels.

I prefer character and attention over the modern conveniences of a larger/chain hotel, so my room, the hotel, and the excellent attention and service of the hotel staff met all of my expections.

There was no microwave, refridgerator or a coffee maker and when we asked the front desk personnel (very friendly and hospitable) they said they were attempting to preserve their historic reputation.

There is a nightly manager's reception with wine and a lovely dining room with full lengths mirrors and a cozy fireplace by which you can enjoy what appeared to be an outstanding menu.

Liked the porch to stop for a libation or just to sit, easy to get to downtown D and the staff is very kind.

While there is a side door with access to the elevator, there are still 3 stairs to the lobby.

It was a nice change from other hotels I've stayed in with a quiet court yard, fire place in the lobby area and over all quiet area.

The ONLY downside I can come up with was the housekeeping was not necessarily as meticulous as one might be used to.

Service was good and the room was very clean and nice.

The charming decor, staff excellent and very clean - especially the bathroom.

They enjoyed the older Victorian style of the clean, comfortable rooms - a little small by big-box standards, but not cramped.

Although a bit smaller than your standard business hotel, the room was clean and very comfortable.

The bathroom was modern, large and clean.
