Metropole Hotel Padstow

Good location close to centre of Padstow and rick Stein's Seafood restaurant for a gourmet experience sits literally below the hotel.

We liked the location very close to all areas walking distance, the hotel itself is quite charming and the food is top notch.

The location is amazing- close to the harbour and the centre of the village.

A brilliant hill top location, just a short stroll from all the action.

The good stuff first: Terrific location and a huge car park, which was a definite benefit in Padstow.

Our room was small but modern and clean - the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was good - the only problem was the shower was a bit of a trickle - it took a while to get wet!

Had an estuary view premier room, the view would have been gorgeous if the windows had been cleaned this year, but the room was a mess, the bed was not double by any standards and all the furnishings needed to be replaced.

We asked for on of the new refurbished rooms, which was very nice with king-sized comfortable bed.

The bed was small, the mattress soft and the room was stuffy.

We saw dust on the lampshades in the room, and thick dust visible under the bed.

Our room was fine, staff were nice, bar/restaurant seemed OK and breakfast was pretty good.

Our booking included dinner in the restaurant and the food was as wonderful as the views - on a par with Rick Stein's restaurants.

One of the good things were that they did open the bar for us on the Sunday night after we came back from eating at Rick Steins Bistro Restaurant (which is definitely worth visiting!

The breakfast was nice, but the restaurant could have done with a clean between the evening meal and breakfast.

View from breakfast restaurant was very nice, being able to park at hotel was a bonus and the staff were excellent.

With the exception of the Reception staff, the quality of staff service was also very much not in keeping with the price bracket, with waiting staff obviously poorly trained, unmotivated (unsmiling) and probably under paid.

Great location, hotel staff very friendly and service in the resturant was excellent.

The staff were really helpful, the receptionist was very welcoming and check-in was quick and efficient.

It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the hotel to go home, All the staff for the front desk to the dinning room staff were great, all so frendly.

Yes, this down at heel version of an elevator was indeed part of the hotel’s shop front to the public and not the service lift!

There was plenty of parking space and its only a very short walk downhill to the harbour.

It has a small car park but there is plenty of parking nearby if this is full.

Wonderful views of the estuary and hotel room spotless cleaning staff very thorough.

Rooms were clean, and we had a fantastic sea view.

Staff friendly & helpful, clean comfortable room and lovely sheets.

Moreover the rooms were spotless, the food was absolutely superb.

The room was spacious and pillows were clean and comfortable.
