Old world shabby chic decor, the building is charming , and the service effective, friendly and personal, price is good as we get the deal thru Booked.

Take Highway 101. As you approach the city get into the left lanes. Take the Golden Gate/Civic Center Exit. This exit lets you out on 9th and Bryant Sts. Go through the intersection and remain on 9th Street for five blocks up to Market Street. Get in the center lanes and veer to the left through the intersection of Market and Ninth. Ninth St. becomes Hayes Street. Stay on Hayes for three blocks until you get to Franklin. Make a right on Franklin and head up the hill for eleven blocks and make left on Sutter Street. Get in the right lane. Go one block to the corner of Sutter and Gough. The hotel is located at the corner at 1500 Sutter Street.

The location was good for an outside of the Downtown area hotel and checkin staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large, comfortable, the ice machine was in a nice little closet right next door to us and the bartender and the waitress were great.
