the hotel was really good it was in an ideal location, with friendly staff. the room was good and it was quiet. the whole place had fantastic character

breakfast, no one came to take our order so we gave up, had just toast, then after 40 mins someone ask if we wanted a full breakfast. we assummed it was not included as we were ignored a bit, but this didn't ruin it for us and would definately go back

A relaxing and well appointed hotel in a fine setting. Spacious.

The evening meal was not good value for money and the bed was uncomfortable

Unforunately we only stayed one night would have liked to stayed longer, the hotel was very well kept, clean and staff especially Ron were very helpful and pleasant, over all a nice country location perfect for exploring the very nice local countryside.

I have no complaints and would have no problem to recommend this hotel to a friend,we hope to stay in there again the future.

The bedroom and bathroom were very nice although stayed with my elderly mother who found it a little difficult to climb the steps.

Banged my leg three times on the bedstead going to the wardrobe.

We had a very nicelight, airy, spacious room and good deep bath which was sheer luxury. bedside lamps were very dusty, dust circulated around the room when switched on causing me to sneeze. Although the cooked breakfast was very good, we were disappointed that the fruit juices were cleared away at 10am, breakfast finished at 11am. The arm rest on my partners chair was broken which was only apparent when he sat down and tried to pull his chair in, he was left holding just a piece of wood!

friendly and helpful staff and accommodation excellent

with it being Easter weekend as well as hosting a wedding felt that breakfast would have benifted a buffet style

The food was excellent although the general decor of the hotel was somewhat dated and tired in need of a spruce up which created the impression we might not be in for a particularly good meal . This was shared by all four of us but we all agreed that the food was excellent.

Good first impression of the hotel when driving in. Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of seating everywhere. Good food and service. Very comfortable room. As it was sunny, it was a bonus to have garden chairs and tables set out in the front courtyard and back garden of the hotel. A very enjoyable stay and we would return if going back to that area.

        The location

The hotel was virtually deserted. Breakfast servings were if anything too generous but all the food had been cooked and kept waiting far too long.We stayed as a result of an offer from Booked.net so for the price we paid we could not complain but we would not entertain a return visit.

Helpful, friendly staff. A beautiful old building, rather heavy-handedly modernised but still with character. Pleasant and spacious room.

Being charged £9.50 for a bowl of yoghurt and a banana for breakfast
