The restaurant was charming for lunch, I tried tasty dishes. The bathroom was clean, with a shower, a hairdryer, and bath sheets. Its location just a short stroll away from Essex Baptist Church was absolutely perfect. There were a bakery and a supermarket around the hotel.

Unique and quirky hotel in a historic historic style building. Had a double room with bathrooms, fireplace, television. Coffee, tea, toast, yogurt, and hardboiled eggs - incredibly nice breakfast. Excellent, nice location really close to the shops on main street as well as the center of the lovely town. Also, here in the Restaurant.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my requests, even moving me to a more spacious room with two comfortable chairs for reading. The room was bright, clean, and quiet, creating a peaceful environment. I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food at the tavern, especially the mouthwatering potato pancakes. The historical charm of the inn made me feel like I had traveled back in time. I highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional service and unforgettable experience.

The location was perfect, right in the heart of the town, allowing us to explore all the shops and restaurants within walking distance. The historic property had a festive Christmas decor, making it a beautiful backdrop for photos. The continental breakfast was great and the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. The bathroom, A/C, and the bed were all top-notch, surpassing the standards of newer hotels. our stay at the Griswold Inn was a wonderful experience.

the staff were exceptionally kind and superfriendly as well, would stay here again. the location was magnificent - really close to the shops on main street, taverns of the american revolution and all the shops and restaurants. it also was close to the marina.

Everything here was amazing and my room was comfortable quiet and functional. The service was absolutely GOOD. Also, location was nice, within a close distance from a historic house museum. Moreover, it's close to the restaurant in years and the Connecticut River Museum and the center of quaint.
