We stayed at the Glidden House for five days in February 2004 due to its proximity to many arts and cultural attractions, and its location right next to Case Western Reserve University.

The location is amazing, the area surrounding the hotel is nice too - restaurants in walking distance and glidden House is a beautiful property.

The location is perfect for the elegant downtown spots and this hotel is on the national historical registry.

One word of advise is "beware of Cleveland Taxis"!

It's more expensive that I'd typically want to pay for lodging, but for those with good taste and some money to spend (or a father-in-law willing to foot the bill), I highly recommend this place.

Classy rooms, clean bathrooms and wonderful beds, nice 42 inch plasma TV & everything else.

A 42" flat plasma screen on the wall, a beautiful marbled bathroom and the bed.

Also the traditional rooms were pretty much the quality of a Holiday Inn, the staff was delightful and the bed was the tiniest queen I have ever experienced.

The bed was the tiniest queen I have ever experienced and the musty smell of the room gave both my husband & I horrible sinus headaches.

There seems to be some management issues that need to be resolved-not enough plates at breakfast, our first bathroom was not very clean (we were changed to another room immediately), and of course lack of hot water in the morning.

The bar service was great and the breakfast was good in the morning.

The breakfast buffet was a nice selection and dining on the sun porch was very relaxing.

If Italian food is a favorite of yours walk or drive up the street to Littly Italy and choose a restaurant.

I was very pleased with this breakfast, and happy to have a complimentary newspaper to read while I ate.

Once a local "mansion", Glidden House retains the lovely period details in its lobby, bar and dining areas.

The staff has always been spectacular and now the rooms themselves are on the same level as their excellent service.

The lobby bar is small and charming, the staff didn't answer questions very well, now the rooms themselves are on the same level as their excellent service.

Glidden House retains the lovely period details in its lobby and we loved all of the beautiful art throughout the hotel.

The only negative - indifferent housekeeping.

Although there is no valet parking (you can park in the lot behind the hotel), a porter is available to assist with luggage.

TV, high-speed wireless and telephones that look like they're from the 1930s except they're modern pushbutton types; the fingerholes where you dial are really buttons.

Carpeting, wallpaper, bathrooms new, bright, fresh, understated, dignified.

    Beautiful historic home/mansion, well maintained European style rooms and the Glidden House was a nice place to stay. The service was TOO good and the bed was huge. Breakfast was great.

    Decided to stay at the historic Glidden House and one of the great treasures of Cleveland. Friendly staff and wonderful beds. Nice breakfast, then a delicious dinner at Sergio's.
