George In Hotel Rye

Situated on the High Street, great location and just our style of hotel - boutique really - luxury within small room.

Well preserved town, to all the famous gardens nearby and the location on one of the main streets in Rye is ideal.

Great location and would love to go back sometime.

The church in Rye, Lamb House and the interesting cobbled streets and bookshops give you plenty to see on foot.

The George doesn't have a private car park and we parked in the Rye station car park.

We booked three rooms here for a family event and loved it - very high end with Frette bed sheets, Aveda bath products and general lovely touches, and overall a charming and atmospheric hotel.

Beautifully co-ordinated decor, everything about the room was perfect, especially the comfy bed & roll-top bath overlooking Ryes old tiled roofs.

Our room was beautifully presented with possibly the most comfortable bed in the world and an amazing roll-top bath, neither or which were easy to get out of once ensconced!

It was beautifully decorated and had a fabulous bathroom with 2 shower heads in the huge shower area and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.

Bathroom, bed, even the TV is top drawer.

The restaurant served excellent food, both for breakfast and dinner.

I have visited Rye many ties and been to The George for meals in the bar and restaurant.

On our second night we couldnt get in the restaurant so we opted for the bar which had a great atmosphere.

We ate in the restaurant both nights and had delicious food.

We ate at the restaurant every night as part of a 2 night deal - great food - particularly the cabbage starter with paprika (seriously).

Staff are so welcoming, very experienced manager to sort out and excellent service - milk to room.

The young staff here are friendly and well-meaning, but for these prices, they really should hire a seasoned always on-the-spot general manager who could assure that you get the service these room rates warrant.

The staff were helpful and even showed us to our room - perhaps thats why others have found reception unmanned at times, and breakfast was good too.

Ancient buildings, friendly staff and the catering manager was especially knowledgeable.

It is located in a great part of the town although there is no parking.

From making a dinner reservation to booking a spa treatment at the salon down the road, we were really looked after, and no request we made, however eccentric, made them bat an eyelid!

Parking down near station is a bit of a pain but that is Rye.

The hotel was clean and our bedroom was across the pretty courtyard in a separate building so quiet.

The bathroom was clean, orange juice at breakfast were very good and the wines were excellent.

The bathroom was spotless, both nights the food was fantastic.
