Fowey Hotel

What makes this hotel is the location and the views but it definitely needs a good clean and staff should keep on top of this.

The location - you wake up to the sound of the waves gently splashing (or crashing if the weather is bad!

The location is so good that they will never be short of people wanting to stay there so it feels like they aren't really trying that hard to maintain the place or - God forbid - move forward.

A top quality hotel in a wonderful location.

The Fowey Hotel is a grand building in a fantastic location, so this alone makes it worth a visit.

At The Old Quay House we had nice clean goose down duvets, a comfortable bed, a nice clean room and bathroom, a lovely restaurant and nice (White Company) amenities all for a cheaper price.

The room had a four-poster bed and a balcony with a magnificent water view.

The bathroom with jacuzzi bath was large and very clean, the bedroom was also spacious, and there was a cafetiere with ground coffee available as well as tea and instant coffee.

I had a non-smoking room but the bedspead, bath robes and towels reaked of stale smoke.

The staff are friendly, huge picture window in the room looking over Fowey The lower ground rooms have balconies and the hot breakfasts are actually quite good.

Ate in the restaurant in evening, excellent 5 course meal at £20pp if reservation made at time of booking.

We had breakfast there both days and the hot breakfasts are actually quite good but the buffet selection is limited.

To eat: Restaurant, Food for Thought, excellent service and food.

Great breakfast and food was lovely at Dinner.

The bathroom was large, the food in the restaurant was to a very high standard and adult dinners were very lovely.

Very attentive staff/good service and lovely room.

Lovely location, a beautiful setting and service from the staff was excellent from booking confirmation to departure.

Service were excellent and receptionist was superb.

Breakfast very nice, friendly staff, no warm food available for room service as no chef works late.

Car Parking was no problem, as we had prebooked a space, could have had lights coming down the driveway when you walk back from town.

Car parking major problem limited no of spaces so have to use public car park not secure and not cheap, a smoking bar area open to the public non smokers have to retrire to Lounge.

Car parking - like any sweet Cornish town, it wasn't built for cars.

The friendly staff, spotless rooms and food well up to standard good choice.

It is clear that some money has been spent on the rooms but the communal areas are rather faded and jaded.

The fantastic views, we stayed in a sea facing room on the first floor - very clean and friendliness of the staff made our short stay memorable.
