Chedi Hotel Muscat

Not as good a location as the Datai in Langkawi (same group of hotels) but equal in rooms, service & food.

We decided to try a new location having visited Dubai 10 times in the last 5 years.

Whilst the hotel is amazing – the architecture is superb (modern Omani mixed with minimalist design) and the lighting at night is quite spectacular – whoever decided on its location needs to have their head examined!

The good thing is probably that it is a lot closer to the airport and to take a taxi from here is a lot cheaper than from the shangri-la.

Plane noise - Big deal you have booked a hotel 15 mins from the airport!

Minimal - no bath, shower only, nowhere to hang up your towels, no shelf space, an open wardrobe no door at all between wet area/toilet and bedroom so you better know your room sharer very well!

Rooms - the rooms (as opposed to the suites) are quite open plan in that the bathroom is not separated by a door from the main room.

Standard rooms are ok with no bath and low level TV (really worth it to book the deluxe suites).

We were checked in and bags delivered to our suite within 15mins, the club suite are quite large, huge bathroom, with 300gall bath and a rain shower, if I had to be ultra critical, there wasn't a dining table and chairs.

4 restaurants and we ate at all of them - the beach restaurant is a great setting and food very high quality.

Come Primo, Shiraz and Dukes Bar have outside dining on the long balcony which runs the length of all three, while Tropicana Restaurant has outside eating on the terrace adjacent to the pool and lawn.

Food at the Chedi was excellent with a wide variety of cuisine in the Restaurant which you can watch being prepared.

Excellent food and choice (they are building a new beach restaurant which will allow more tables than existing poolside bar, particularly in the evenings).

The Arabian court dining expirience is slightly dissapointing as the food is identical to the dishes served in the main restaurant, but much more expensive.

The service from the staff there was faultless, you can see they have all been trained to be the absolute best at what they do, from the reception staff to the chamber maids.

The service was second to none, to the point where we were carrying champagne glasses from our room to the restaurant and a member of staff ran up to us and swept the glasses out of our hands.

We found the staff and customer service first-rate.

There is also a gym by the infinity pool with views of the beach and a spa is situated within the grounds.

Buffet Breakfast was great as was the Spa and the Adult only Pool.

Plus points are the rooms, the cleanliness, the restaurant, the pool, the Spa and the staff.

I told them this was not sufficient and they upgraded to wireless high speed internet this time.

Staff is excellent and buildings and rooms are beautiful and clean.

The room was spacious, clean and had a great view.

We stayed in a deluxe room (complete with free high speed wifi internet access) that was extremely spacious and spotlessly clean – in fact thoroughly cleaned twice daily!

Really can't fault the place - ambiance was good, Staff courteous and friendly, rooms modern and spotless, food terriffic, beautiful pool.

The rooms are spotlessly clean and well equipped.
