Big comfortable room, looks like it's recently been refurbished. Good bathroom with fab shower.

i loved the buffet breakfast, very tasty.

very nice refurbished room. polite helpful staff. High level cleanliness. Good location in Newcastle ( for a wedding, a trip into the countryside and a city tour.)

A minor suggestion. What about a polite notice on the bedroom doors asking guests to close them quietly especially at night.

the room i booked was not what i was given but as there was a wedding on nothing could be done.

    • Older travelers

The room was as described, the location good

Food was mediocre, breakfast service was shambolic, the room was not serviced adequatley, only one lift which was claustrophic, bangin fire doors and room door shut snap like a crocodile.

location is great close to good eating places and a short taxi ride to the town centre, mostly one peoples area at Osborne Road and can be a bit noisy at times as Newcastle is popular with Stag and Hen Partys

I would make sure that next time my room was well away from reception as i had a room next to reception and was very noisy up to 4 in the morning (room G6)

    • Couple

Big sized rooms, with comfortable beds, nice view from window.

Decor a bit dated- carpets in rooms in in main reception areas quite garish. The corridor walls in rooms quite thin- could hear people walking past during night. Bathrooms a bit small and dark, but fitted the purpose of our stay perfectly.

Staff were excellent, location great as we were going out to eat in Jesmond. Nice refurbishment, lovely bathroom.

Strange choice of bedroom wall colour when rest of hotel so tasteful. Didn't sleep well as disturbed by load stag parties from 2-4am. One guest vomited waiting for breakfast - hangover- not pleasant! Not hotels fault thought and they dealt with it well.

Very noisy neighbours, which your staff attended to.

On arrival at the Hotel the staff were very friendly and polite. The bar staff were very accomodating and could not have asked for a better reception. I will be using this hotel again!

I did not like the breakfast layout as some of the hot food had obviously been out for a while and had gone a bit rubbery, however in saying that everything else for breakfast including the staff were fab!

The room, whilst clean and comfortable was small and didn't have air-conditioning (if it did, we didn't find the switch!) so it was stuffy. Only had a smallish window which didn't let in much air.

The room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the cooked breakfast. It was useful to have a space for the car at the rear of the hotel. The hotel was handy for buses and the metro into Newcastle. Jesmond is a nice area.

The food in the Billabong was enjoyable but our eardrums were ringing - although it was a Friday evening!!
