Overall, the hotel provides a pampered experience at a fair price!
The atrium is certainly impressive, but I really feel that the hotel needs some money spent on it.
The price was comparable to all the other hotels in the downtown area, so I though we'd try it.
There are too many newer hotels in Denver that have just as good of service for the price.
I would have been completely content to stay inside the hotel for the entire time but the location offers so much within walking distance.
The location is wonderful and allows you to explore the best Denver has to offer.
I loved the location of the hotel, just a block away from the 16th Street Mall.
First, and this is not a complaint, be prepared if you take a taxi cab from the Denver Airport.
We took the Super Shuttle from the airport.
The room and bathroom reminded me of an old studio apartment.
There was enough room to manouver around the king sized bed and a small sitting area by the windows.
The bed and bath linens are beyond compare.
The standard guest rooms tend to be small, unless you get a corner room but extreme comfort compensates for the size.
We had a King Deluxe room and the bed was very comfortable.
Now for the negatives: We ate breakfast at the restaurant and had absolutely horrible service.
We overcame the $ by purchasing a hotel package that included the cost of parking the car, breakfast for 2 (room or restaurant), wine, & grats.
Even when we were unable to get a table for dinner in one of the restaurants because we arrived so late, we received the same courteous and personal service and an extraordinary meal in the bar.
The lobby is stunningly beautiful, as were all the other areas (restaurant, bar, hallways).
Plus: lovely lobby, nice restaurant, bar, quiet room, seems clean (but small).
The front desk staff, concierge, and valets were all friendly.

I went on to use the sauna and shower at the spa.
I was at the hotel for a meeting so didn't take advantage of some of the amenities, such as the spa or having tea in the lobby, but the meeting rooms were nice, and the service provided for the meetings was good.
For girls day, I'd suggest starting with afternoon tea in the lobby and then hitting the spa for a couple of hours.
I consider myself very tech savvy (have rewired my house, set up a wireless network at home, programmed a VCR, etc.
Wired high speed internet is complimentary.
The room was very charming, comfortable, and clean.
The bathrooms were clean and usable, just not fancy.
The bathroom, while perfectly clean, has not been renovated since literally 1940.
I would certainly avoid this place and stay at the newer properties in Downtown Denver until they clean up the bathrooms.
Then it was off to our room which was made special by his having champange in the room with fresh chocolates.
