Ben Doran Edinburgh - 爱丁堡

The location was pretty good for our trip, the hotel was very clean and the staff was gracious and accomodating.

We arrived at Edinburgh airport after a hasslefree flight and got a taxi direct to the hotel (?

I would have liked better driving directions to the hotel fom the airport.

Our room was cleaned everyday with new towels and the bed made - It was nice to come back to a freshroom every day - There are only 11 rooms altogether in this hotel which is nice.

Our room was supposed to have a kingsize bed (which the hotel owner proudly showed us) but two Twin beds pushed together is not a King size bed!

This is NOT a hotel it is a Bed and Breakfast you have to share the bathroom with other guests, my television didnt work I had to wait over 3 hours for it to be reaired very difficult to watch when the tv is only 14 inches in size.

The basement was, basically, a self contained appartment, beautifully decorated and set out with a vase of roses and ferns as a centerpiece, TV with freeview, hot drink facilities, a spotless shower room and a very comfortable bed.

After a full day of sightseeing, we returned to our room, which had been thoroughly cleaned (even the headboard of the bed gleamed and smelled of polish!

However, the breakfast in the morning was wonderful, with helpful staff and good food (lots of it!

The breakfast on offer at the Ben Doran is more like an American breakfast, left on a hot plate for probably about an 1 and 1/2 hours so the bacon was as hard as leather by the time you came to eat it.

Breakfast, although simple, was more than sufficient for a money-conscious honeymooning couple who didn't want to go out searching for something to eat first thing in the morning.

There was a good selection of food on offer and we left the dining room feeling as if we didn't need to eat for the rest of the day.

Breakfast was a feast with croissants, yoghurt, fruit and more, followed by a cooked breakfast.

We found Ben Doran to be very central and the bus service was very good.

Pleasant place to stay and the staff was gracious and helpful.

The bus service was very good and not a 4* hotel - this was not clear on the booking information.

The staff were friendly and helpful and even though we had checked out they allowed us to leave our luggage for collection later that day as we were not flying home until that evening.

The appearance of the guest house itself was neutral and even though we did not require car parking facilities, I can imagine it would be a nightmare to park there as you could only get about 3 cars on the drive (at a push)!

One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because it had parking for guests (6 spaces).

There were three parking spaces (one of which seemed to be permanently occupied).

The rooms light and clean, breakfast was good.

The bathroom was very clean and modern, food was good.

Very comfortable clean room, excellent breakfast.

Very comfortable clean room with all facilities The staff went out of their way to be helpful, nothing was too much trouble and we felt very welcome.

Staff was very friendly and the hotel (9 rooms) is very clean.
