Hotel staff had it right. Attentive but not in you face and intrusive. Our room was large, we had a superior room, lovely bath room. Spa facilities were lovely too. Not crowded and quiet and relaxing! The hotel have thought of everything. From towels for spa to fluffy robes in your room. I especially liked the shoes provided for the the spa and outdoor areas. The surround of the indoor pool can be a little slippery, but the shoes stop that! The grounds are beautiful with nooks and crannies to hide yourself away with a good book before having a quick dip in the warm outside pool. Nice!

There is nothing about this hotel that I could say that I didnt like. The only thing that may no be to everyones taste is the fact that the hotel is situated 2 houses away from childrens creche. We went in the summer holidays and it was quite noisy. You cannot hear the noise coming from the creche in the hotel but it is intrusive if you are outside especially by the outside pool. That said dont let it stop you going it is a lovely hotel and a great place to relax.

Well prepared. I am allergic to feathers, but they had prepared well in advance, and not only changed the bed clothes, but they had also checked out the furniture in the room and told me which chair contained feathers. Overall, just a nice feeling about the place.

A small refrigerator in the room would have been nice.

This was an amazing hotel. It actually felt like staying in a mansion. We went there to celebrate our first anniversary and also first fathers day. They put us in a room facing the gardens which are beautiful. They had a fathers day lunch as well that was fantastic.

The staff could not have been more helpful. From making reservations for spa and dinner to assisting with questions regarding tipping, they exceeded all expectations. In addition, when I managed to leave our passports in the room safe, I was contacted about the situation. Many thanks to John Luke for all of his assistance. He was kind enough to send them by overnight mail to our next hotel. In addition, the facility was gorgeous, the gardens heavenly-overall a top notch resort in one of England's lovliest towns.

Total luxury from start to finish. Staff very attentive without being intrusive. Hotel and gardens fabulous as was the food. Gym and spar were clean and well equipped. We have stayed at The Bath Priory some years ago and it was even better than I remember. The walk in to the town centre takes about 15 minutes through the park and is very pleasant. I would love to stay at the Bath Priory again.

Our room although beautiful and large was rather hot in the unexpected October sunshine but we were able to move to a room with air conditioning (the Carnation Suite) without any problem.

Attention to detail is excellent. Staff are beautifully trained and very attentive. They "know who you are" after just an hour or two at the hotel. The garden is just a wonderful place to relax. What a find so close to a major city.

Lack of air conditioning was a minor problem due to the unexpected hot weather

It was a superb location, comfortable room, excellent food and most helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will be putting the hotel on our list of hotels to go back to at some point.

Beautiful rooms with impressive old paintings, lovely gardens and an excellent pool. Good parking. Friendly helpful staff.

Our deluxe room (with only a double bed) was inferior to our companion's classic room which had a sitting area, and a bathtub and was much bigger in general.

Service was excellent including the amazing dinner.

Not a show stopper but in general the ambience is too formal, lots of older generation guests - a sense that you should whisper out of fear of being too loud. Music in the lounge areas would help to bring the spirits up a bit - could be classical music or piano background music, anything!

My Boyfriend and I had one of the best meals we have ever eaten anywhere in the world and we have both travelled extensively and would describe ourselves as 'foodies'. So this is praise indeed for the Priory's restaurant. We had the 9 course taster menu by Michael Caines. The attention to detail and special touches made this birthday trip very memorable.

The glass recycling happens on a Friday morning (early) and is very noisy.

We stayed in the Azalea room which was quite delightful. It was at the top of the older section of the hotel at the top of a quaint staircase with no landing. The sitting room was small but enough for the two of us and the bed was situated up a few more stairs in a loft type arrangement. The shower was the absolute best we had encountered in the uk and was separate to the bath - unusual in our experience. Beautiful Molton Brown products in the bathroom and books by English authors on the bookshelf above the bed. The terrace, gardens and pool were well cared for and a dream English countryside escape for two weary Aussie travellers. The staff was helpful and welcoming on arrival, the porter who helped get the suitcases up the stairs was amiable and the wait staff most attentive. I highly recommend this hotel.

We had dinner in the Priory restaurant. The food was nice, no doubt, small portions, but I would have liked it to have been explained a little better. For example, when I asked about the 10 pound supplement for the beef cheek and turbot dish I was told that it was because of a complicated technique that was used on the fish. I appreciate that, but what was the technique? (A little Master Chef knowledge is a dangerous thing). As there were only the two of us in the restaurant at the time it could have been further elaborated upon. However, to be fair, we were told it was a new menu so perhaps the staff were not quite familiar with it. My partner had the pork and said it was sensational.

A beautiful hotel with lovely staff in an excellent location.

I ordered a chicken caesar salad off the bar menu, and it was only 3in in diameter and had only two lettuce leaves.

The Bath Priory is a small luxury hotel - very similar to a country house, but within 20 mins walk of Bath town centre. There were comfortable lounges decorated with numerous paintings, fresh flowers, deep sofas with lots of newspapers and magazines to peruse. In fine weather you can sit on the terrace overlooking the beautiful back garden. The service hit exactly the right balance of formality and friendly - putting you at ease and helping you to relax. The food was fabulous - beautifully cooked and well presented. The spa is small but with so much to see and do in Bath I didn't spend much time there. It was lovely to have a swim and sauna at the end of a tiring day.

Our only issue was that our room was front facing and in the morning we could hear the cars driving by on the road nearby and the crunch of delivery vehicles on the gravel drive as they parked. A garden facing garden would solve that.
