I think this hotel was earlier positioned as a value hotel, but with hotel prices in Hyderabad shooting up, it elevated itself to a top-rung hotel without the facilities and quality one expects in a hotel in that category.
Its a nice hotel, an excellent stay away from home and reasonable prices.
All said, it's a decent place to stay but at current prices, i think you could either get the same quality in a much cheaper hotel or pay a slight premium for truly 5 star hotels like the Taj Krishna or the ITC Kakatiya.
Indian food is good, but there is better within walking distance of the hotel for a fraction of the price.
Charminar is in a fabulous location - quiet very near to the Candolim shops and the Taj Krishna is perfect.
Its location is too good and the Chinese place is really great.
The location is very central to everything in Hyderabad and the restaurants in the hotel are great.
Cars were not nice at all, I think Chicago cabs are much nicer than these taxis.
The moment you get picked up from the airport by the uniformed chauffeur in the 7-series BMW, you know you're in good shape.
Staff were accommodating and a beautiful bathroom has got nice bath tub.
Each of my rooms was excellent, with comfortable beds and great bathrooms.
Also, for Taj Club rooms, the rooms on the 7th and 8th floors are quite a bit nicer (better layout, nicer bathrooms, hand-laid wooden parquet floors, etc.
The rooms are great, try to get a club room and facing the rear of the property.
I stayed at the Taj Krishna for about 4 weeks, it was enchanting the lobby that is, rooms are also clean, Staff were accommodating, I wa smoved three times until I secured a Club level room.
The bar/lounge is nice enough and the breakfast is a wide an lavish spread of all sorts of yummies.
Moreover the continental breakfast at the lobby restaurant is also good and laundry service is prompt.

The breakfast was decent, but the hotel restaurants are all top notch.
The staff at the restaurants were very helpful to the point where we overwhelmed by their support, however the rest of hte hotel staff need to take tips from the restaurant staff.
We led a work delegation of 20 people in April - however instead of receiving good service due to us bringing them a lot of business at once, the reception staff were always rude when I went to change and comment on anything.
The stay most pleasant, the staff were always willing to work around my schedule and the lobster on the room service menu was great.
This hotel can provide you that perfect effect, their staff are the best and the room service also is very good.
Every aspect of our stay at Taj Krishna was perfect, courteous nature of the staff were always so willing to help you and the room service was very good.
The pool and gym are fine, but there is usually some event either being setup, in progress or being dismantled, in the garden nearby so it is hardly relaxing.
Insist on a room facing the garden / pool and you'll enjoy a gorgeous view across Banjara Hills to Hussain Sagr (the big lake in the center of town) and beyond.
The garden and pool area were lovely; even if there were insufficient lounge chairs for the guests, and the outside members who came during the weekends.
