斯维索特酒店(阿姆斯特丹)

Prime location, situated right on Dam Square, walking distance to all the main sights and areas.

Great location situated on Dam Square and within easy reach of all the museums and usual sights.

Situated right off Dam sqare, a couple of minutes walk in either direction to the Central station, red light district, shopping streets and coffeshops, this hotel has the best location available.

For my mother-in-law's convenience due to her age, we took a taxi from the airport each way, which cost 45 euros and both drivers expected a 5 euro tip!

Taxis however can’t stop in front of the hotel, so you have to bring all your luggage over the road that have heavy traffic (tram, cars, cycles and of course lots of pedestrians).

The suite, which was more like an apartment than a hotel room, had all hard wood floors, a big beautiful all glass bathroom with separate shower, toilet and bath, slippers and robes.

The room was huge with a great bathroom, a bed that must have been 7' square and five windows overlooking Dam Square.

Lovely wood floors, comfy king bed, oversized bathroom with swiss bath products and a great view of dam square with large windows.

The Swissôtel have a restaurant on the ground floor where we had breakfast which you have a huge choice of fried food or continental.

We didn't eat in the hotel's restaurant and only had a couple of drinks in the bar so can't comment on those too much.

Service is very good, and every morning you get a free nice buffet breakfast at their posh restaurant.

There are many other restaurants nearby Swissotel which offer English Breakfast, etc for only about 5.

This was only €3 more than the restaurant price for breakfast so seemed worth it.

Front desk staff were rude, and the concept of concierge service is foreign to them.

Staff service was excellent, helpful and warm (Luigi the concierge is outstanding!

There is no lobby, you just come in & when you want to use the lift you have to use your room entry card (the card reader for the lift is a bit iffy which can be annoying).

After checking in, you must have your card key at all times for this hotel because to prevent outside people from every getting into the hotel or elevator you need a key for that also.

The wireless internet connection was not working and you should bring your own ethernet cord for the wired connection which is 15 euros/24 hours.

A colleague trired the wireless connection option and reported that the connection failed often.

Spotless clean and all the extra's you could ever want: 2 flatscreen TV's with sky TV, DVD player, fancy coffee making machine, mini-bar, slippers, robes, complimentary toiletries etc.

It was very clean and tidy, decent size and a really nice bathroom.

Our room was exceptionally spotlessly clean and smelled fresh.

Secondly the room (i stayed in a superior room) was very clean, tidy and massive.

The room was spotless, the food was lovely.
