We paid nearly the same price at each hotel.
Both hotels are simiarly prices but the Park Hotel was miles above this place.
Very nice location outside Lugano and lake-side rooms have comfortable balconies.

Skip the Swiss Diamond and head for another location.
I would not recommend getting public transport to this hotel like us but if you have a car, it is a great place to stay in Lugano.

The lake views are perfect and rooms are both unusually large.
The hotel advertises 4 restaurants, but its premiere restaurant, Panorama, was closed (they were vague about how long this would last).
We did not eat in the hotels restaurants as dinner was extortionate and the whole clothes issue would have been a problem.
The Restaurant Du Lac (right on the lake, reached via a nicely decorated underground passage under the busy road) served delicious food in an elegant setting, although dress ranged from t-shirts and jeans to evening wear.
The pool was great, the view was fantastic and Morcote is only a 20 mins walk away with lovely restaurants.
Breakfast was nice but I have had far better for far less.
