  Good value for money and friendly staff. Rooms maybe dated, the food was very nice limited choice.

  Setting withh good food in a scenic restaurant and the staff were very helpful before. In addition our room had a huge double bed.

  The bed was one of the most comfortable we have had in a hotel, the service from every single member of staff was superb and the food was great.

  Very nice river view and a lovely new playground only a few minutes walk into the village. The location is great for countryside/historic stay and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast comes pretty high up the list and pleasant gardens to sit.

  The building is an old house, is in need of having serious money spent on and shower just trickled out water.

  Location good for Hadrians wall, a few minutes walk from a nice pub in Humshaugh and so obviously the hotel`s position on the Wall is exceptional. The pool is lovely and warm.

  Shower didn't work, breakfasts are small.

  Beautiful location on the river, excellent value and the staff were helpful - there was just not enough of them. The bed was comfortable, the bar manager were friendly positive and the meal that was included in our package was lovely. Dinner was not bad, after a busy day walking was wonderful to be able to use the spa facilities to relax.

  Lovely area and the gardens overlooked a huge river. Comfortable hotel and the friendly staff. Room nice and clean, the attractive lady behind the bar.

  Overlooked by another 10 metres away and food very poor.

  Great location, nothing better than a pint by the river and very good value for we paid. Friendly attitude of staff and lovely large room. Breakfast was excellent, loved the pool wish we had been there for longer.

  A very nice location, the gardens overlooked a huge river and the hotel's position was beautiful. Staff were friendly, room was clean and much of the food was luke warm. Leisure facilities were good.
