If you like your wine then you will need to pay significantly for it as it is very expensive averaging at £25 sterling; remember this is a 5 star+ hotel and these are the prices you'll pay in other similar standard hotels for beer and wine.
We spent most of our shopping time at Centrepoint, supermarket is good for picking up chips, chocolate etc at great prices, had a foot massage most days at a great massage place on the 2nd floor, very reasonably priced compared to hotel spa prices.
We tended to eat at the more casual dining options around the reosrt (Marina Cafe and Al Fresco)which were about average for in house hotel prices.
I was incredibly surprised with the prices as they were on par with the rest of the hotel.
The location is jsut out of town but shuttle buses are provided on the hour.
The location is superb, the facilities first class and the staff extremely helpful and friendly.
It's location just outside the city was perfect for us meaning that we could go into town at any time.
We generally caught a taxi into town most days, did the shuttle bus a few times but we just found it more convienent.
50) taxi journey to the town centre although there is a free shuttle bus which you need to book in advance.
The bathrooms are quite large with a nice big bath, but a rather odd set-up of a shuttered window type opening from the bathroom into the main bedroom.
The rooms are great with a view from a bath tub into the room, balcony and beyond.
Not cheap but excellent value (£200 a night B and B inc taxes for a suite with bedroom, sitting room, dining room where they put 2 roll away beds for our kids, 2 loos and 2 verandahs).
On our wedding anniversary we got back and the maid had tied a big red bow around the bed and filled the bath with rose petals, they also delivered a cake & flowers to our room.
Room size is ample, but the standard rooms can really only fit the king bed (or 2 singles) and maybe a cot.
Great breakfast although the main hotel restaurant was a bit dodgy - but other restaurants in the resort are fine.
The food, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner was extraordinary plus happy hour at sunset in the al fresco bar was not to be missed each evening.
The Five Sails buffet restaurant we ate at only for breakfast which got very busy and noisey at about 9am.
In the restaurant where you eat breakfast they have a theme night each night of the week.
Breakfast is standard western food also with traditional Asian cuisine.
Service at the reception desk varied depending on different staff, so can be excellent to fairly average.
I'm especially impressed with the services provided by the staff.
The other facilities provided were tennis courts, bike hire, a games rooms with arcade games and pool, squash courts and fitness centre.
Despite being towards the end of one side of the hotel it would never take more than 3 minutes to walk to our room from the lobby but this of course was dependant on how well the lifts were working (sometimes the door never closed).
The Magellan plus access to the club next door with its magnificent 50m pool, restaurants, gym, ten pin bowling, squash, badminton and the list goes on.
There were several extras available such as afternoon tea, evening drinks, free wi-fi.
However, it didn't seem to matter because we spent a lot of our time in the Club Lounge across the hall which had an excellent view of the harbor and sunsets, as well as wireless internet and free drinks and snacks at certain times of day.
The rooms very very comfortable and very clean.
The room was clean and modern, the carpet had some slight stains that had been there for some time, so nothing is perfect in life.
The room was always spotless and are very big.
The rooms spacious, clean, well maintained, the food brilliant (also use the Pacific and the Marina) if you want more variety.
The rooms were clean and well appointed, although they were let down by extensively stained carpeting.
