My college-age daughter and I stayed at Surfer Beach last Novemeber and I couldn't believe the value we got compared to the prices of other hotels in the area.
Even the Cafe" Be Curious" on the boardwalk next to the hotel is excellent value for money, both of these are highly recomended, however the hotel isnt.
We had a King Suite on the third floor of the Surfer Beach (and the price was about 60% less per night that what we planned to pay at the previous hotel.
The hotel itself is a bit old and dated, but the rooms were clean and comfortable at an affordable price.
The location is the real gem here, as the hotel is situated right on Pacific Beach in the middle of lots of action.
The hotel location is close to everything, within walking distance.
The rooms are comfortable and clean, the neighborhood is fun, and the location can't be beat.
It is a quick and easy drive to downtown San Diego, La Jolla, Old Town and the airport.
My daughter spent the days enjoying the beach or exploring the area on foot.
The bathrooms were disgusting and small, the bathroom sink is basically in the bed room and there is no air conditioning in the rooms.
I had a room on a higher floor, but the entire hotel faces west on the ocean, beautfiul redone rooms and comfy bed/amenites.
The beds are comfortable, we chose to stay in a standard room with a king bed.
The rooms are decorated tastefully,the beds are great pillow top i believe, and the room was very clean during our stay.
Our room had been recently renovated (I believe the whole hotel has) and was very clean, trendy, and had a comfortable bed.
The World Famous Restaurant is right next door and has great breakfasts as well the The Eggery located in the small shopping center close by.
Our favorite part of the trip was waking up each morning for breakfast at The Eggery restaurant about 2 minutes walking distance from the Surfer.
Also, the restaurant has beachfront dining and the food is quite tasty.
The apartment was big, the restaurant that was connected had great food.
Bar fridge so we were able to cut back on dining out as well, the mattresses were set into a square pressed board and the towels were very large.
I was offended by the staff and security guard and the maid service leaved a lot to be desired.
The staff is friendly and helpful, beds are comfy, hot drinks are available in reception.
On arrival the staff were very laid back - so laid back the receptionist was having a cigarette outside!
The front desk staff was very accomodating and friendly.
The kids loved the pool, they took surfing lessons, and we spent lots of time on the beach.
AND hand in your parking pass, there is a $50 charge they make you initial by to aknowledge.
It is very dark and made us uncomfortable when waiting awhile for the elevator.
The balconies have a great view of the most happening spot in PB, the rooms are comfortable and clean.
The rooms were clean and had a beautiful view, right on the beach!
There's free coffee in the lobby, friendly staff and the room was very clean.
Pacific Beach was a great destination, our very clean newly-renovated room had a beautiful ocean view and this hotel was perfect for us.
Our balcony on the 3rd floor gave us a great view of the ocean, the room was very clean during our stay and the staff was very nice.
