  18 to the center of the strip so if there are 3-4 ppl its better to take a cab.

  The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and had great shopping.

  There was plenty to do just in the hotel it self, food, the tower and it's rides, spa, water massage, pool and topless pool and I could go on.

  The room was above-average, the restaurants good, and the hotel and casino staff were very, VERY friendly. Having said that, the location (as others have pointed out) is very inconvienent. Yes, you can get from there from here via taxi, "The Duce" (Double-Decker bus), rental car or the nearby first stop on the monorail. Another "gotcha" is the extra $5 per day service charge for the pool and workout facilities. Enjoy Vegas, and don't hesitate to try this improving hotel and friendly people!

  Room was average but we only slept for a few hours, then back to the casino and sightseeing. I read the reviews and was thinking twice after I booked the room. The location is a bit far, so expect to spend around ten bucks on cabs.

  We stayed a night at the Stratosphere, and there was not much wrong with the place, really, except that in Vegas, for about $95 a night, you should be able to get a better room that that found in an average Quality Inn. The room was clean, though the bedspread had burn holes in it. There was no closet, only a rack at the end of the room. Speaking of the room, ours had a smallish window, and it looked out on a trash-strewn roof with another building some 20 feet away. The dessert bar was skimpy, but after all that good seafood, who really cares?

  The bathroom is a split design, with the sink in the room and the toilet and shower in a tiny cubbyhole of their own.

  The room was lovely, very clean and we had a great view from the 21st floor down the strip.

  So it was a bit far away from most of the other hotels on the strip but there are plenty of buses to take you down there (even if they are a bit crowded).

  We moved to the 17th floor the next day at around noon to a perfect room. Other than the room mix-ups, the Strat was great. Food was good at the buffet for breakfast, Top of the World for lunch and Roxy's.

  The room we had reserved on line and paid a one night deposit for was not available (non-smoking king in premier tower). We were put in a double queen room on the 8th floor w/ a view of a concrete wall and satellite dishes. The room was a pit, lamps broken bathroom nasty and patched over holes in walls.

  The overall service of the staff was great.

  The room although in the Premier Tower had a very crappy view as I stayed on the 7th floor. The Courtyard buffet had no real selections and the hot food was cold! An upgraded room that looked like CRAP and very outdated. The pool was made of ice cold water of which now I've encountered the flu since I've returned home.

  The signs led us right to where we needed to be and there were no shortage of parking stalls. We took the elevator to the lobby and quickly followed the signs to the registration. None at all, and Fay (Cust Serv Check-In) was very very friendly and helped us out quickly and to the point, we were upgraded to a room on the 16th floor in the World 1 tower, she told us we would love the view. Did we ever, we got to the room and opened the blinds, WOW what a view of the strip, we could see everything. The room was nice, pretty much like the standard room at any hotel, but I have stayed at the Palliser, Banff Springs, Chat Lake Louise and the Hotel MacDonald and those hotel rooms are really nothing special either lets face it, a room is a room, there is no advertising once you are in :). The food was very good for the price and had huge portions, the hotdog was at least a foot long. We were quickly let into a VIP area to go up the Tower Elevator and everything was very posh posh (velvet rope, elevator operator in a tux etc. We were seating in a booth facing out towards the windows and what a view.

  I got a clean, mini-suite room with a king-sized bed for $45. If you are just looking for a clean room on The Strip (albeit, at the farthest northern end, and halfway to downtown), The Strat is tough to beat. To expand, the room was impeccable, and very quiet. Though the room was clean and offered a nice view, there was a cigarette burn in the comforter, and one of the light bulbs was burned out.

  If a bargain is what you're after, you have a car or are willing to take the bus, and if you don't mind putting up with some annoyances, book your room. Now, the bad stuff: I didn't get in until about Midnight on a Sunday night, and was exhausted, and wanted nothing more than a shower and a bed. The most bizarre thing about the room - I kid you not - was the toilet seat.
