The Strand is a colonial landmark. No better place to travel back in time. Wonderful place, despite the high pricetag.

We loved the historical ambiance and attention to detail in this beautifully restored property. The spacious and elegant suites were perfect, and the butler service added a touch of luxury. I loved it, very nice, would recommend it highly to everyone. Bit pricey, but you have to pay for quality!
I hated having to pay the 6% tax for using my credit card to pay the hotel room bill. I wish bookings.com had mentioned this to me so i would have taken some extra cash with me. 6% is too much to just 'throw away' and i feel somewhat 'cheated' by your site.

Relaxed colonial atmosphere
The wifi was poor but perhaps it is to be expected. They allow smoking everywhere except the dining room

The beautiful building
If you book by Booked.net, you may arrive to the hotel and found they have no record of your reservation, apparently, Booked.net send a fax to reserve the room, but it is Burma and fax are not working 100%, it happens to us, Booked.net should really following up by a phone call.

Cozy, Colonial Oasis
I was mesmerized by the beautiful, old-world style decor at this hotel. The room exuded a sense of grandeur with its high ceilings and dark hardwood floors. The attention to detail in the furnishings was impeccable. I was delighted by the spaciousness of the room and wished I had spent more time enjoying it. The hotel’s close proximity to shops and restaurants was an added bonus.
Although the food at the hotel was a letdown, with only the breakfast being satisfying, the rest of the experience made up for it. The shower water was a bit cool and never warmed up, despite waiting for it to heat up for several minutes.

It is a very nice old hotel and really great place to stay
The price for the rooms are just too high!

Located in a beautiful, historic district, this hotel offers excellent service and fantastic French cuisine. The rooms are spacious and luxurious with a comfortable bed, multiple bottles of water, and L'Occitane products in the bathroom. The attentive staff provides an umbrella during the rainy season and greets guests with fresh fruit and a newspaper upon arrival.
The noise level can sometimes be disturbing, with sounds of dogs or trucks heard from the room at night.
