When we called the hotel, they changed our rate to the lower price.
A great renovated hotel and considering the rate I paid.
The hotel location is ideal and a large bathroom is nearby.
It's in a great location, as a lot of downtown Staunton is a close walk.
On the other hand, spotlessly clean, very friendly staff, grand lobby, and a superb location.
The trolley goes thoughout the city and is free, so take it for an overview and then go back where you want to explore more on foot.
Buffet items were not restocked, and many serving stations lacked tongs or spoons for serving.
This last visit we did get a smaller room in the older section with a King-sized bed, and preferred the larger rooms with queen-sized beds - those rooms also seem to provide lovely cityscape views.
This year we booked a room with 2 queen-size beds since that room was larger than the king-bed room we've had earlier.
On the positive, the room was beautifully decorated and clean, the bed was luxuriously comfortable, and there was free wireless internet.
We had a pet room with a King bed and while all the furniture was very nice, it was just too small.
You just had enough room to walk around the bed between the other furniture.
A delicious meal and good bar service in the Sorrel Room, WONDERFUL bed (didn't want to get up), and an excellent breakfast in the 24 Market Restaurant.
With so many nice restaurants in Staunton to dine at we didn't eat at the hotel except for breakfast.
Breakfast was delicious, and the staff in the restaurant were over-the-top courteous.
Skip dining at the hotel and eat in downtown Staunton, which has excellent restaurants and boutique shopping.
The buffet breakfast in the hotel dining room was very nice -- and one can "upgrade" to the marvelous Sunday brunch for a few $$ more.
Reception was fine, employees were friendly and attentive, the service was great from check-in to check-out.
Service was delightful and staff was friendly and helpful.
Conference center staff members were super, the restaurant in the Mill across from the hotel was delicious and service was friendly and helpful.
Every hotel staffer I encountered, from housekeeping to banquet staff to front desk were warm, friendly and professional.
There is a seperate elevator that takes you from the parking deck and then you switch in the lobby for the ones that go the rooms.
Jacuzzi is warm and pool don't think was heated but was refreshing after the pool.
There is a convenient parking garage just around the corner with an elevator to the hotel.
The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful whenever we had a question.
Room was clean and hot food was lukewarm.
The hotel representatives were extremely helpful, the staff was very very pleasant and the workout room was clean.
Rooms were clean, breakfast was excellent and the dinners we had were pretty good.
Bath were super clean and breakfast was a buffet that was pretty good.
