I stayed at the Stonecross Manor hotel last weekend and while I agree that it is a little tired around the edges, the hotel represents good value, the room was of decent size and everything was very clean.
The hotel represents good value, welcoming staff and our room was very clean.
Good location for getting around the Lake District, we also had nice trips to the little towns and hotel very comfortable without being overheated.

Its location is excellent and easy access to both countryside.
This is a medium size hotel just outside Kendal, its about 20 minutes on foot into the town centre.
Knowledgeable about the area and also close to the motorway only 5 minutes.
This room must have been the smallest double room in the hotel - having to do a crab-walk in between the TV and end of the bed to get to the bathroom.
The breakfast was very good, and the room was larger than average, with nice furniture and a very comfy bed.
Our room was excellent, very tidy and clean the bed was a huge 4 poster and the most relaxing i have spent in a hotel.
I have stayed in many hotels all over the world, she had a wonderful day thanks to the very dedicated staff helped make her day a day she will never forget and room smallish has all you need including a comfy BIG bed.

The food in the restaurant was good value, especially breakfast - no complaints!
