I would definitely recommend this hotel as being good value for money.
Great location, nice hotel and this as well as the parking price.
Overall if you want location at some decent prices and are someone who views a hotel as a place to sleep for the night, in the opening year, this is a good choice, especially if you come by car.
It's within short walking distance of many of the key sights of the city, which is amazing for the great price of the hotel.
The location is excellent and hotel is situated in the historical center.
Extremely helpful staff in a location that really couldn't be better, the hotel is located in the main square of the old city and the rooms are beautiful decorated.
The location couldn't have been better- right across from the main part of town, walking distance to everything in Dresden.
As we were departing the hotel a rainstorm came up and a bellboy rushed up with an umbrella to help us to our taxi.
Access from the airport is about 25 minutes in medium traffic, and the public parking "Frauenkirche" is right beneath the hotel: choose level -1 and drive all the way through until you see the red wall painted with the Steigenberger logo.
Since they're new, the rooms are sparkling and very comfortable, with nice beds and a well-appointed bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower-tub combination.
My room was of a good size, impeccably clean, good bed and bathroom.
King bed involved two twin beds pushed togteher with the gap in the middle.
Bed is good and the breakfast buffet is delicious.
Moreover the service as excellent and comfortable bed.
Am not interested in spas and gyms and bars, just clean, quiet, comfortable rooms, a decent breakfast and a good restaurant on site if I need it, and the de Saxe delivered.
Munzgasse, a lane lined with restaurants, is just across the square from the hotel, but beyond that restaurant choices in the center city are a bit limited if you are looking for some variety.
This differed from the lunch service at the bar which was abysmally slow and the food (salad) was old.
The location is perfect and the restaurant is superb - good food, lovely room, lovely service.
We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel since we're not big eaters at 19 euro each.

My main gripe about the hotel was that very few people (from the doorman through receptionist, to restaurant staff) spoke any more than basic English, so if you have a query, you will need to wait until someone who does speak English arrives.
