Southern Palms Hotel Christ Church

Fantastic beach front location, close to a few supermarkets, even closer to restaurants and bars.

We have been to Barbados before and so we chose SP because we knew about its great location.

Would willingly go back because of the location.

Careful of the rocks in the sea in the centre of the beach as my sis cut her foot quite badly, the atmosphere at the hotel over Xmas is wonderful.

It is perfectly safe to wander up and down on foot to St Lawrence Gap where there is always plenty going on.

Our suite was very spacious, with a comfortable king bed as well as a single bed in the bedroom and a Queen size sofa bed in the sitting room.

Our one-bedroom suite had a double bed and a single bed.

This included clean bed linen and towels, beach towels are also provided, and can be changed as frequently as you like at the water sports room, so long as these are returned when checking out there is no charge.

It was decorated with style, beautiful California shutters, king size bed, large bathroom, and a kitchenette.

Our room had breathtaking ocean views and it was clean and spacious with 2 double beds, it also had a kitchenette and a balcony (even the pool/garden rooms have ocean views!

The food and service in the restaurant and bar was very good, although we did also try other restaurants within the location and can recommend the following, Pisces, Bellini's, Josef's and Champers.

Any food or drink purchased at the restaurant and bar are billed to your room.

Good restaurants nearby were Harlequin and if you're up for an expensive meal the Restaurant at the South Seas was top notch.

The food was good – yes, you can eat more cheaply outside of the hotel but sometimes we had breakfast in the hotel or lunch etc and the food was always of high quality.

Facilities-Our room was ideally situated near the pool and bar/restaurant.

The staff on reception were so friendly that we immediately felt at ease.

Definitely no quibbles with hotel staff, service, food or rooms.

The staff were helpful, the maid serviced - she was great and our room was plenty big enough.

The front desk staff were not only unfriendly (never a smile) but were downright cold.

The lobby area (with old fish ponds and terrible looking leather seats) and the pool area need to be cleaned up and updated.

We thought we'd be in a garden/pool view room - so were delighted with our sea view.

We had a great view of the beach and pool from our balcony where we had our morning coffee and tea and evening rum punch with view of the sea.

The room was always kept very clean and tidy and lots of fresh towels, the house keeping staff even washed up our tea mugs which made me feel a bit guilty!

The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were exactly what we wanted (beach fronted, spaceous, clean & tidy) and the beach is definitely one of the best in Barbados.

The rooms could probably do with a bit of redecoration but were clean and had air-conditioning and a fridge, kettle, cups, glasses etc.

The hotel was lovely, the staff were marvelous and the rooms were very clean.

The room itself was very clean and spacious.
