Sonesta Beach Resort Taba

The beach is gorgeous, taba is a quiet location and the best bit about the hotel was the coral reef is on.

Beach was clean too and great location for travelling - we did the Petra.

Great location for travelling - we did the Petra and Jerusalem trips, both were worth it though very tiring (Jerusalem trip leaving the hotel at 3.

The 1st thing people should be aware of is that Taba airport is in the middle of nowhere in the desert and you have to book transfers as there are NO taxis.

Book late check out as soon as you arrive, cost is $25 and well worth staying in room until 5pm , as bus to airport does not pick you up until 5.

When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the bellboys who then take your cases to your room we were told we had very nice rooms, we had booked a suite and it was huge and had a queen size bed.

One member of staff helped guided us to our room, and rearranged the 2 large single beds and bedding into one huge bed.

We stayed in one of the new blocks and had a suite, I thought that the standard of accommodation was excellent, with nice large well appointed rooms, only let down by the hardness of the bed.

Our room was huge with a king size bed and beautiful bathroom.

The staff make the most amazing creations out of towels that sit on your bed whan you enter your room.

The main buffet restaurant served an amazing choice for breakfast & lunch (the desserts are to die for)but dinner was very disappointing - more of a snack bar with many things overcooked (forget the chicken).

The food was samey in the main restaurant, but if you go to the Italian or Lebanese restaurants, you got a 3 course meal for £10 and it was well worth the money.

Piano bar is nice, the food is much better than the restaurant.

The food in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was really very good.

Palmira restaurant (main buffet style dining area) and the other 3 onsite restaurants, Scallini - Italian, Fatoush - Lebanese/Oriental and the Blue Fish were all outstanding quality and once again the service is outstanding.

Hotel staff mostly helpfull and good standards of service.

The hotel is spacious, staff cannot do enough for you excellent customer service all round.

The central atrium and piano bar are OK but the reception staff indifferent to guests, verging on the rude.

The staff however retaliated and started to ignore their requests for service and looked after the Brits in style.

As for the place itself it very pleasent nice grounds tennis court, gym, 8 ball pool(at a charge), sauna (at a charge).

Impressive lobby, nice piano bar, nice beach and pool area.

Other things to do include pool and snooker tables, tennis, and a health spa.

Rooms are spacious and very clean, staff very attentive (not overly we found, like some other reviews) BUT the attentiveness stopped (like a light switching off) dead on midday on the day of our departure when our 'all inclusive' stopped!

The rooms are adequately clean you're not too much of a snob.

Hotel was great, the staff were always friendly and our room was very clean.

Clean large rooms majority overlooking the sea, the main pool area was big as was the beach and all in all Taba was nice.

Sonest Beach Hotel was superb, decency then the staff were friendly to you and the rooms were really modern and clean.
