I can't believe that, with the exhorbitant price charged per night (compared to other hotels in Hanoi), that their SLOW internet service isn't free of charge.

The location is good, and we spent a lot of time venturing out and around Hanoi.

The location is good and hotel staff are fast.

In a very central location and the service very good.

Good location, 30 minute pleasant walk to old quarter or $1 taxi ride and this hotel is up to the usual Somerset standard.

This hotel is very well located for Hanoi sightseeing by foot and is surrounded by lots of great eating options.

The bedrooms were: 1 with kind bed, 1 with queen, 1 with 2 twins.

We had a 2 bed apartment on the 22nd floor.

The area used for breakfast is the pub/restaurant at night - it retains much more of the pub atmosphere unlike the nice breakfast dining areas in all the other hotels we stayed in.

Room was clean, breakfast was very nice in the Jaspa's restaurant downstairs.

Very large living/dining area, 25 metres long and food - hotel restaurant JASPAS is excellent.

Jaspa's the 5th Floor restaurant was really nice for all meals - food was really good quality and so cheap.

The rooms were large and clean, the service was wonderful, and the meals at the restaurant were great, especially for those accustomed to Western food.

Very nice staff and the prices were also very reasonable for room service.

The attitude of the front desk staff seemed to be that we were making.

Very comfortable, well-appointed accommodation with pool, tennis courts, gym and supermarket downstairs in a reasonably central area between the railway station and French quarter (10-15 minute walk away).

Only drawback was they tried to charge us for a broken hairdrier that was broken by housekeeping - still they caved in in the end.

Staff were excellent, the rooms were large and clean.

Beds were fantastic and the pool was clean.

Great location and good hotel. All in all for the money we paid we found the Somerset Grand very worthwhile and staff was helpful: we had a late plane to catch. The rooms were very spacious, the kitchen had a large fridge and the Manager was so nice.

Supermarket downstairs in a reasonably central area between the railway station and good value. Comfortable venue in convenient location, nice staff and cool in the Hanoi heat. Washer/dryer was a huge bonus and the meals at the restaurant were great.
