There is great internet access as part of price of hotel for which they should be highly complimented!
Going from hotel to most area within the city should not cost more than RMB20 (e.
I tried to negotiate a bargain so we would not have to pay this fee since the water in the shower was only lukewarm and I feel that canceled out the fee for the mark on the duvet cover but the hotel would not agree.
Now, coming to the location, it is very centrally located.
The location was perfect, alongside a river with a fantastic river walk, and was central to stores and restaurants.
Alternatively, hire the hotel taxi - Audi A6 for 1500 RMB.
The room was superb - very modern and clean bathroom with separate shower area, incredibly comfy bed and pillows, bathrobes, slippers.
The rooms I stayed in were clean, very modern, great bed and pillows and bathroom facilities, wonderful and prompt service.
I got an executive room and it was large, beautifully decorated, comfy bed, huge flat screen TV etc.
The separate shower is a glass walled affair projecting into the room, interesting in that you can lie in bed and watch your significant other shower -a great way to start or end the day!
I am not sure if all rooms are the same, but the shower room can be seen from the bedroom (just a piece of glass separating it!
There are two restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner; one chinese, one international.
There are two choices of breakfast, either Western (international) or Chinese, at different restaurants within the hotel.
Besides the two main restaurants (one international, one chinese), the hotel also has a smaller japanese restaurant.
But then again, why eat in the hotel restaurants when you are visiting one of the best regions of China for food?
Breakfast is very good, especially the Chinese one.
However, if you have the sofitel privilege card, FORGET about the so-called privilege as the front desk staff know nothing about it.
Breakfast was OK, lots of choice, both western and eastern, poor coffee service and on both mornings we were there the staff really wanted you to eat up, and get on your way.
I reserve special mention for the staff in the Lobby bar, maybe I caught them on a couple of bad nights but they were surly, and unfriendly.
The price is right, the services are excellent.
The staff speak good english and were very attentive when we needed their help with information.
The hotel has a great indoor lap pool and an adequate gym.
Also a spa (hot tub, sauna, steamroom, massage,.
Our stay here was fantastic, from the huge clean beautiful room to the service.
