Sofitel New York - 纽约

Located between 5th and 6th Avenue on West 44th this hotel has a great location with easy access to all of Manhattan.

Despite its central location, the street the hotel is located on is quite quiet.

It was our first trip to NYC and this was the ideal location, centrally located to tour the city.

It is very easy to get a taxi at the airport and the hotel reception booked our return car for us.

The hotel arranged a luxury transfer for us from the airport which was smooth and quick and meant we didn't have to wait in line for a taxi.

This place had a fullsize bath and shower in the bathroom and a bedroom with more then just walking room to the bed.

The rooms are extrememly nice with a spacious and luxerious bathroom, amazingly comfortable bed, in room minibar, and a large flatscreen tv.

Room was nice, great bed, clean, electronic minibar, good closet/drawer space, bathroom was new separate shower and tub.

A lot of space, beautiful furniture, sliding door that separted the bedroom from the living room, 2 tv's, separate shower from the tub, marble bathroom floors, robes, comfy slippers, and plenty of space for 2 people.

The room was large by New York standards, great bed, two comfortable chairs, an ottoman, bathroom with separate tub and shower.

44th between 5th and 6th has some good restaurant choices - decent breakfast joint, an Indian lunch buffet, a classy Greek restaurant, a slick bistro / bar.

Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was also pleasant, with continental and classic NY breakfasts (pancakes, eggs, bacon etc) being offered along with regular top ups of coffee and OJ.

We enjoyed two breakfasts at Gaby’s, the hotel’s only restaurant & bar.

Don't go for convenient therefore expensive hotel breakfasts (looked as though a standard breakfast for two in the Sofitel is in the region of $70) but find a nearby diner/restaurant.

Hotel amenities: no excessive frills (eg no pool but a good gym) and an attractive brasserie with terrace that doubles as breakfast/bar/restaurant.

The service offered by the concierge and reception staff was second to none - they even helped us out of a tight spot with a dinner reservation at a downtown restaurant.

Had room service breakfast - delivererd on time by lovely staff - everything from check-in to concierge services done really well.

The gym was ok (no swimming pool, jacuzzi or sauna though) with up to date machines and a small selection of free weights.

Workout room is decent, no pool, no jacuzzi, no sauna.

There is absolutely no view being in MThe hotel doesnt have a pool and apart from using the gym or sit in the lobby, there is nothing else to do in the hotel.

Also the in room internet access seemed a bit pricey too – in days of low cost or even free wi-fi hotspots in hotels the wired broadband access provided here seemed a bit costly.

As for electronics and technology, high speed internet access was available for an extra fee, and there was a keyboard of some type for wireless access to something on the TV.

The room was very nice and clean not very spacious but absolutely spotless ( I was looking for the spots but could not find any).

When we arrived late after a delayed flight, we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly night staff, clean hotel and lobby, and large and spotless room on the 26th floor.

The housekeepers kept the room clean and fresh twice a day and we never really noticed them - very discreet.

I am a very fussy person and even I cannot think of one negative thing about this hotel, it was very clean, modern, and has everything you need in the room, an iron, ironing board, mini fridge, fresh flowers, mirrored wardrobes etc.

The rooms were large, clean, well equipped and luxurious with fresh orchids.
