Sofitel Marrakech Palais Imperial - 马拉喀什

Great location 800m from the medina may be generous and good hotel close to the Medina.

The Hotel is an very convenient location, few kilometers from the Menara Airport and at walk distance from the Medina.

The hotel was not in a convenient location and we were advised not to walk too far and to take taxis (inexpensive - but don't tell them that you are English because they double the fare).

I asked them to arrange a taxi to and from the airport, and pre-paid for the service.

All the travel negotiated in the "petits taxis" for a few pence.

Presidential suite which had two bedrooms, a shower room and a bathroom with jacuzzi.

The bathroom was adequate, although we did find it quite annoying to have the toilet in one tiny room, and the sink and bath/shower in another room.

The room itself was of very good size (+ 30sqm), with a great & spotless bathroom and separated toilets.

I am not sure, but I don't think they offer double bed in many rooms,.

The room was fairly dire in that there were cigarette burns on the carpet and dubious stains on the bed linen (covers) We politely asked to move but was advised that it was not possible.

Food was of a very good standard, and breakfast was a wide choice, although steer clear of lunch in the orangerie restaurant.

Perfectly located, nice hall, charming bar, nice restaurant (but food not too good), comfortable rooms with great views on the Atlas, good "cold" pool.

The hotel itself was expensive for food especially in comparison to surrounding restaurants, we found the Comptoir Restaurant (just a short walk away) very good/laid back.

St Lawrences bar was a pleasant experience but tended to eat out of the hotel every night (Le Tobsil being the best restaurant).

There are lots of italian and french restaurants too however if you're not a fan of the local cuisine.

Staff at reception could not have been more helpful - the concierge in particular was very knowledgeable in helping us with restaurant recommendations.

The concierge and reception staff were less than helpful.

Once inside the hotel we were equally impressed by the large inside lobby area with its marble like floors and prompt and friendly service from the Moroccan reception staff.

Phoned reception, was moved, complained about the tapping foot receptionist, and the no coffee waitress.

These include a small, but nice gym and a heated indoor swimming pool.

After dragging our luggage from the parking lot up the stairs to the lobby a porter arrived to offer his assistance -- after all the lugging and dragging had already been done!

The swiming pool area is great for relaxation as well is the jacuzzi.

The staff were very friendly and very professional, the room was lovely, clean and comfortable, and the hotel was just a 10 - 15 minute walk from the main square in the Medina.

The pool area was nice, our hotel room was clean and charming, the staff were very helpful.

Staff were friendly and helpfull, bathroom were both very clean, the breakfasts were also excellent.

The room was very clean, however, and well-kept.
