Perfect location: close to the beach, the hotels use of high quality shampoos and the TV is a plasma in the wall was quite nice.

We rented a car for AUD50/night from East Coast Car Rental at the airport - A shuttle bus will ferry you to the car rental location.

Sofitel Gold Coast is about an hour drive from Brisbane Airport.

A spacious stylish high-quality room with a king bed, safe, LCD TV, sizable marble bathroom with a separate shower with rapid arrival of hot water.

Overall the room was impressive - we had a Ocean view king room and the bed was really comfortable - not too soft or saggy like a lot of hotel beds.

The room consists of a king size bed which is ultra comfortable, working desk with broadband, plasma TV, two chairs, mini bar, coffee facilities, with a small balcony with two chairs and table.

Another 3 minutes to the excellent restaurant area of Broadbeach, the bed was really comfortable - not too soft or saggy like a lot of hotel beds and the staff were great and efficient.

One restaurant, deck pool, is at the third floor and second "Room81" lounge bar at the ground floor is amazing.

The buffet breakfast was outstanding: deservedly it has won an award and the choice was great and high-quality, including espresso coffee; the restaurant site is very pleasant, spreading out to a pool-side deck.

Service was generally very good, our room included complimentary breakfasts for us and the restaurant was very nice especially.

Restaurant: Had breakfast buffet each morning which was quite good, but on 2 mornings it was very busy and trying to get refills for our tea proved tricky.

I was then offerred a 50% discount if I had a meal in the restaurant and finally free meals and house wine but I still had to pay for the original room.

At that price every thing should be perfect, staff very professional approachable pleasant and the concierge is very good.

In addition fancy lobby, staff wonderful and we ordered room service every day as we enjoyed that much.

Room Service: We used room service twice and found the staff to be really courteous and prompt which is not always the case with room service.

We had room service on the night of our arrival and the food was of a very high quality, nicely presented and delivered by a very pleasant member of staff.

The only downfall would be paying for parking (come on it's the Gold Coast) and the wait time for lifts, other than this i recommend to anyone and everyone.

Also there is a heated pool and jacuzzi so pack your togs.

The powder room and bathing facilities were immaculately clean and the hotels use of high quality shampoos, soaps and lotions was greatly appreciated.

Bathroom was luxurious and breakfast was very very satisfying and fresh on the terrace.
