However, the management team that renovated this property has abused the opportunity to add another jewel in the Sofitel crown and settled for a hotel that is clean, but overpriced — a commodity that can be found anywhere in the world.
I would recommend the hotel if it can be gotten at a good price by people who want to spend their time sightseeing, however, I would not recommend it for honeymooners seeking a charming place to wile away the hours.
I might stay at the Sofitel again but for the price we paid I just wonder if we could have found a better hotel?
Location is excellent and this hotel is wonderful.
The location is just fantastic, very conveniently located & is walking distance from the central.
It was in a great location and it was close to everything we wanted to see.
The hotel is very modern and clean - In a good location because close to all tourist interests but not completely in the hectic center.
The location is within walking distance of the train station and if you take a taxi it isn't too expensive but the one way streets make you go a bit out of the way as opposed to walking.
My wife is a Corporate Flight Attendant and the FBO at Florence airport booked the hotel.
Rooms large, spotless and comfortable with good bathrooms, minibar, room safe etc.
It was on the third floor, last room at the end of the corridor and there was hardly any room to move around the double bed.

The marble bathroom had all of the usual first class amenities including a deep tub, plenty of well lighted mirror as well as robes and slippers.

The front desk staff was fine; we dealt several times with a very pleasant young woman at the front desk who checked us in, got us reservations to the Uffizi, and booked us dinner reservations.

From the minute we walked into the lobby everyone was more than helpful, polite, and just plain warm and welcoming.
Although there was some renovation being done we were able to order evening cocktails in the air conditioned lobby.
