The advantage of staying at this hotel is the location and the friendly staff.
The location and views are unbeatable we are returning in 2006 and plan to stay at this beautiful hotel.
The central location is 's strength, passtries shops just round the corner of the hotel and reception staffs are friendly.
Terrible: very poor service, antiquated rooms (windows that do not open, broken furniture, old beds, etc.
I had some issues with toilet trouble in the bathroom, and one of the elevators was out of service.
My room had a problem with sewer gas smells in the bathroom and I, too, had to fight to get a room change.
Great location, beautiful refurbished rooms - but the street noise (we had an ocean facing room), PLUS noisy staff in the hallways really detract.
The water view rooms are spacious, but a little more noisy since you are on top of the busy street.
The restaurant in the hotel was very clean and the uncluded breakfast quite extensive.
Breakfast buffet offered a good range and the chinese restaurant on the roof was very good.
The breakfast buffet was adequate (with horrendous service) but the Chinese restaurant on the roof is a joke.
We had a wonderful stay and the staff were excellent, the meals at the restaurant were delicious.
Cab D'Or Bar (4 Adib Street) for wonderful 1920's atmosphere, tasty tapas like meals and great Alexandrian wine.
Altho reception staff friendly, its definately worth challenging them to show you better rooms.
For starters, upon check-in I had this conversation with the front desk receptionist:.
Buffet breakfast is a good one and service was nice, but not at the reception where they don't seem to care very much about their customers.
Delicious icecream shop, excellent service.
I went to the "health club" on the top floor for my daily fitness routine and could not believe what I saw: a few broken fitness machines, a dirty sauna and massage room!
Nothing bad to report but nothing to get excited about apart from a lift which said 'Do not use in case of Fire or Earthquake'.
Really liked the antique style elevator - very quaint and definitely a nice feature to retain to add character to the building.
The food at the 24 hour cafe was good and the rooms were clean and nicely refurbished.
Beautiful sumptuous old world style rooms, very clean.
