Right in Downtown, close walking to alot of items.

Did not like the parking situation.

The location of the hotel was perfect for the trip we made. When looking for a hotel, we read the reviews of previous guests, which hit the nail on the head. One review complained about the noise from the bar downstairs, but i found this more amusing than anything & it added to the atmosphere of the area. The hotel is located in the "Old City" which doesn´t really look so old. It´s walking distance to all the sites of B Franklin´s glory & The Liberty Bell. Would definately stay there again, as we only stayed in Philly for one night & regret not having a few beers in the bar downstairs.

The new comforter on the bed.

I would never stay in this hotel again. It is on a noisy street, it is very small, run-down, shabby and where improvements have been attempted, they are badly done. The curtains fell down when we closed them, the bed is small and hard, the bathroom is so tiny even a small person can't turn. It gives a terrible impression on arrival with a shabby door, run- down street, dirty stairwell, no directions to the 'office' on the second floor. The office is a complete shamble with unfinished walls, wires everywere, dirty. Hallway was recently painted. No elevator so you have to carry bags up two flights of stairs. Door to the storage room was damaged, furniture piled in the alcove, and the rooms are above a raucous bar. Never again, despite the price!

The hotel has charm, far from the luxurious but anonymous chain hotels.

The rooms are small, but it's somehow endearing.

Good location, friendly and efficient staff

Lack of parking, room size (understandable given the age of the building)

How short it was. 5 min

That it turned out to be a halfway house. Tiles in the shower were brown and grimy. Paint wad chipping. No way of locking the door. Ac unit installed in window using duct tape. Hallway also functioning as a junkyard.

The location is fantastic! Can walk just about everywhere - great historic neighborhood. Also it's significantly cheaper than just about everywhere else.

It's a struggle to get your luggage up & down 4 flights of stairs! Also the hotel does not feel secure - the locks are old, there is no security at night. I ended up with a double room - the bed was great, but the fold out was horrible. I'm glad no one had to use it! It was uncomfortable to even sit on.

Location, location, location--- If you are seeking a place to sleep and shower in a hotel that is quiet and secure at night and spend your days walking to visit the historic sites and theatre, this is a great deal! It is being refurbished, and I will plan a return stay.

The location couldn't have been more perfect ! walking distance from pens landing and center city indepence visitor center. It was worth the price . vintage style hotel . next door to a convenient store . it was a great place to stay for only a couple nights . very close to south street walking distance .

There were a few bad things some of the outlets didn't work , so a few lamps worked. No Internet connection available in my room . no place to store food/drinks no ice we had to ask the bar below for ice the lady who helped me couldn't have been nicer about it and improvised an ice box for us. It's not that bad though it was an experience . stairs are soo steep ! I did not see any elevators . but it's not as bad as it sounds I personally had a fun time staying in this classic hotel

this is not a hotel for family, older folks or the novice. it's clean, very basic accommodation for the seasoned traveler who needs a central base from which to operate. if you're looking to be pampered, keep searching. if you want a great location for a great price--you found it.

Close proximity to tge fantastic transit system Philadelphia has. Mostly the subway.

The price should have been more reasonable, given the size of the room. 85, should have been fine. Not 110.

The Internet worked very well, and there was hot water. Nice furniture

Tiny room with no outside light (window faced right on a high brick wall). No service at all (waste bin not emptied over 4 days, bed not made, towels not replaced). Dank smell. Overpriced for what it is. Location is not absolutely everything, and emptying the waste bin daily would have made all the difference.
