Shutters On The Beach Hotel Santa Monica - 圣莫尼卡

The location is beautiful, good restaurants within a moment's walk from the hotel and the staff is professional and polished.

The location is good for LAX and shutters Hotel advertisements give the appearance of an exclusive sanctuary.

The spa is good but in a basementy sort of location and also very small.

Shutters supposedly has these fancy taxis always on site and they said they'd call one to take me to the airport.

We also enjoyed walking around Montana Avenue and although we did take a taxi there, we chose to walk back.

Back to the rooms - Big beds, lots of space, 32" LCD tv in the bedroom and another smaller flat panel in the bathroom.

The rooms are so pretty; it feels like your staying in Diane Keaton's beach house in As Good as it Gets, it has great touches like books, dvd's and great bath amenities and the bed was soooo comfy.

The rooms are very well appointed, beautiful large bath tub, great beds and service.

The bed is super comfortable, bathroom is so lovely with either a fireplace or jetted tub, you're on the winning end no matter what you get.

The room decor was california beach cottage chic, the bed was soft and cozy and the bathtub was heavenly.

For lunch we tried the more casual restaurant, Pedals, a beach-side bar/cafe.

From the valet parking, through check-in, room, view, services, bar and restaurant, everything was excellent.

For breakfast we would always go to the hotel restaurant downstairs (I forget the name).

We expected high restaurant prices in the hotel and assumed the $50 credit we received daily with our package would probably only cover breakfast (we were right – and we’re not huge breakfast eaters!

We only ate at Coast but both the breakfast and lunch were fantastic (huge portions, too).

The service is excellent, pros: Nice rooms - One Pico is a good restaurant and the reception staff didn't offer any drinks in compensation.

Maybe it was our fault to have such high expectations but I would have thought it would be reasonable to expect friendly/upbeat service from the concierge staff.

Service from most staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, but I found the front desk to be useless.

I will be back there for a whole week in December and frankly can't wait -- didn't see the new spa/gym complex.

It is definitely a hotel for the beautiful bodies crowd, and we didn't feel comfortable lying around the pool or even walking through the lobby unless dressed up.

They are currently working on putting in a jacuzzi by the pool so there was some slight construction noise while we were poolside.

Shortfalls, charge for high speed internet, problem with an entree at brunch was not removed from the bill, expensive.

The rooms were very clean, but they were much smaller and darker than we had anticipated, with very low ceilings.

The staff is magnificent, the beds are fantastic--wonderful fresh linens and the food is very good--One Pico is so consistently good.
