The location is a little out of town, there is a courtesy bus, but stops before anything starts!
This lovely little resort is one of the nicest spots in Townsville, close to the beach (mangrovey but nice for a walk) and a short taxi ride into town (or a 45min stroll along the strand).
We had been led to believe it was close to strand etc but a taxi cost us over $12 to get any where.
Flat screen TV, comfie bed and pillows, nice bathroom.
We went to bed after 2 long flights and hassles on qantas and slept in - a maintenance man popped his head into our room- bit of a shock!
The pathway to rooms was just outside the window and people cannot help but have a quick peek to see what is happening in your room.
The rooms are modestly decorated and furnished, but have extremely nice bathrooms.
Our particular room had no balcony or patio, but I noticed some end rooms appeared to.
The hotel is set in tropical gardens with a pool and restaurant - which was absolutely excellent both for breakfast and dinner.

The only way to the bar/restaurant area was through the pool - so it was rather well frequented (and there were functions on both nights, so well travelled until quite late).
The palm-fringed pool and bar/restaurant have the feel of an oasis, while the rooms we stayed in were clean, bright, comfortable and well-serviced.
I didn't dine at the restaurant, but did have a light snack by the pool, and the meal was very reasonably priced and tasty.
The positives for us in the Seagulls were the staff in the bar, the receptionist and the room service but I have to say that we would not be rushing back there.
The lagoon style pool is great, the reception staff are very nice.
Reception staff were most attentive and the rooms were so clean that they sparkled.
Train staff are very helpful, some great attractions close by - the Aquarium and the Strand is brilliant for kids.

They do offer a shuttle bus, or its a nice walk along the seafront.
Plenty of parking space although we were there out of school hols - when it might have been a different story!
The rooms were so clean that they sparkled and were modern and fresh.
