It was on the island of Galveston.

My room was very dirty when we first checked in. There was a roach which had been sprayed with something lying dead on the bathroom floor. There were small bugs in the bathtub the entire time we stayed. There were pubic hairs on the floor even after the maid came through and cleaned, using only one small towel and a spray bottle. There were crumbs and a colored pencil behind the chairs, as if the room had not been entirely vacuumed prior to our stay. The sheet on my bed had a red marker stain on it.

The owner has to be the nicest hotel owners I have met. He suggested taking a ferry ride just across the street and even let us park our car there for free( covered parking) while we took a cruise. He even offered to let us sleep and shower the morning we got back from the cruise. Who does that??? Bed was hard but well worth the stay. Don't believe the negative things posted. He was a great guy with a great sense of humor!!! Wouldn't even take ourt tip. Would definitely stay again.

Sam the proprietor of this hotel and his family went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one and we so respectful and accommodating, even making our friends coffee at night, and gladly making us more in the morning. They were pleasant and helpful and allowed us to leave our car in their complex free while we took a 5 day cruise out of Galveston. They were knowledgeable about Galveston, downtown, taxis, etc. and assisted and answered any questions we had. The hotel is located right beside the Galveston ferry station and a short distance to downtown Galveston. The rooms are roomy, and the complex was clean. Would highly recommend this hotel due to their kindness and service. We stayed at many on our way down South from Ontario...and I don't normally write reviews..but Sam deserves a good one. Thanks, Sam

The owners/manager and his wife were very cordial. The husband was very security conscious. They made extra effort and offered us another room if anything was uncomfortable or the ice machine next door was too noisy, but the room was quiet and we never heard the machine. I will stay there from now on when I visit Galveston, which is my home town.

The Inn was quiet, clean and for the most part comfortable. The bed was the only thing that bothered me. I am accustom to sleeping on a softer, pillow top bed. This was a firm mattress. Not uncomfortable with springs poking or broken just harder than I usually sleep on at home. I did not notify management as some have foam pads to put on the bed. So there were no short comings of the management. I decided to tuff it out. Management was very gracious and we would most definitely stay again. Oh also to it is right by the ferry so you can walk on go over to Boliver Island and find a stretch of beach you can maybe walk on (depending on tide) in peace and quiet.

The location and price. And the staff were very friendly and courteous. I really liked the fridge, microwave and sink.

The room was old, but it was mostly clean. No coffee pot in room, but there was coffee in the office. They do need to do deep cleaning.

My stay at Red Carpet Inn, Galveston was AWESOME. The staff was wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about these people. The room was CLEAN, nice firm bed, hot water and cold air. Breakfast consisted of frozen waffles (regular and blueberry), frozen sausage and biscuits, toast, fruit, juice and coffee. Room was large. Plenty of storage.

The staff are very friendly, they watch the comings and goings of everyone, I stayed there due to it being close to the ferry and the price.

I liked how personable the Staff was during my stay. They were always friendly & willing to help with information. I also liked the fact that there was only one way in and out, this made me feel safe.

Only thing that comes to mind that I didn't like, was the fact that the AC wasn't on when I walked into my room & the room was very hot..
