Scotsman Hotel Edinburgh - 爱丁堡

In terms of location it is hard to find a better placed hotel in Edinburgh, such is the Scotsman's proximity to both the Royal Mile and Princes Street (a couple of minutes walk to either destination).

Very good location next to Waverley Station on North Bridge.

The Scotsman is in a great location, on North Bridge, right next to Waverley Station (Edinburgh's main train station).

The Airlink airport bus goes to/from Waverley Brige too, so it's really easy to get to on public transport.

Spent the final night of our stay here before heading to the airport and sincerely wish we hadn't bothered.

Well equipped rooms (pants press, complimentary water, iron, board, robe, slppers, bath products form their spa, board games, comfy bed and a little cubby so they can deliver things to your room with out disturbing you).

Upstairs, a bedroom with super kingsize (super-comfortable) double bed, LCD TV and a huge bathroom and shower en suite.

It was faultless: the room very spacious; the bed very comfortable; the tv flat screen very good size; speakers in the room and the lavatory; an extraordinarily good shower and excellent bath products.

Nothing has been overlooked in this hotel, the rooms are beautifully decorated with great views of the castle, the bed is just pure bliss and the privacy hatch for room service means that you don't even have to open the door!

We got a last minute, 60% discount deal, so only had the bog-standard room, but it was spacious, appointed in chic, contemporary style and very comfortable from the bath to the bed.

Breakfast is served in the North Bridge Brasserie, which also doubles as a public bar and restaurant.

The bar/breakfast room staff were efficient on the whole, however food took some time to arrive.

I went to dinner with my friend in the hotel restaurant, which is a magnificent space with splendid food, attentive staff, and an excellent bar (willing to create cocktails not on the menu).

Ordered room service from the brasserie and it was delicious and wasn't overpriced - didn't go to restaurant or bar so can't comment on that.

facilities were excellent, we had a cosy nightcap in the bar and breakfast selection was very good.

Friendly staff at reception, concierge and room service.

It's not the facilities that will make us return, but the service from the concierge staff which was extraordinary.

Unfortunately we didn't manage to get any treatments in the Cowshed spa (all booked up), but we did use the leisure facilities - gym, swimming pool, saunas, steam room, jacuzzi etc.

The gym, spa, and pool are also great, as are the "Cowshed" bath products in the room.

Had a couple of treatments at the Cowshed Spa and this was really good, as was the pool and gym facilities.

I did have a problem with my internet connection not working but there was wireless so that ended up fine.

2) WIFI is overpriced, there is another network you can use depending on your network card (wireless) it is about 1/4 the cost.

Our bathroom was spotless and breakfast was nice too pretty expensive.

Our room was lovely and clean but a bit cold at times.

Our twin room (necessary because of a serious health problem, and made absolutely clear when booking) did not materialise.
