This hidden gem is the perfect stop along the scenic Garden Route. The beautifully restored Victorian hotel offers a taste of colonial luxury with all the modern comforts. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. The food was outstanding, with a dinner menu offering a wide range of delicious dishes prepared by the talented chef. The 3-course breakfast was a highlight, a truly indulgent way to start the day. The location in the stunning Overberg Region made it an ideal spot to break up our journey.

excellent break point on our way from Cape Town to Knysna. We have now booked for our return journey before flying home to UK. We were well looked after.

Best hotel of our holidays! Very friendly hosts, comfortable, luxurious room, large, clean bathroom, beautiful garden, great swimming pool. The food is haute cuisine, diner as well as breakfast, mmmm! Every detail matters: cheese platter at 4am, free carwash while we had breakfast,... We would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely loved the warm and friendly service from the staff, who made us feel right at home. The rooms were beautifully furnished and the fireplace was a cozy touch. The location was perfect, within walking distance to the town center and its charming shops and cafes.

Wish we could have stayed for longer than just one night!

Very nice creole like home in Swellendam, renovated with lot of style. We took the cottage for 4 persons. Nice linnen, very confortable matras. Swimming pool with well maintained garden. We had dinner at the restaurant that was very good with homemade bread.

Small thing : Some more homemade bread in the morning instead of warm breakfast.

The rooms are spacious with all the comforts one could want. The main building is beautiful and inviting. The conservatory where meals are served is gorgeous. The staff were fantastic, arranging massages and dinner reservations. One night wasn't enough to enjoy everything.

Felt like relaxing at home, no reason to complain.

This is a beautifully presented hotel in attractive grounds. The room was very comfortable with the little extras you would expect in a quality establishment. The breakfast was a unique treat. The staff were all excellent, even washing our car which was very dusty after a trip to De Hoop.

Fantastic old colonial stye house with garden rooms. Lovely welcome buy the owner and a cheese and wine platter on arrival, never had this before even in so called 7 star Dubai hotels. I would recomend this hotel for a relaxing getaway, we will be back soon and stay for longer.

Absolutely stunning property, spacious & beautifully decorated rooms, amazing bathrooms with modern antique detailing, warm greeting by owner, delicious breakfast with fresh juices.

Everything is just right it is true in this life you get what you pay for it may be a little bit more expensive but it is a 5 star establishment

What a gem. Shame we were only there for 1night as it was the nicest place we stayed at in the 2 weeks we were in the Cape. The rooms were amazing. What a breakfast and car washed too!

As a business traveler, I loved the spacious rooms with all the comforts I needed. The fireplace in the evenings created such a cozy atmosphere. The main building was beautiful and welcoming, and the conservatory where meals were served had gorgeous natural light. The treat of having my car washed before departure was a lovely surprise.
