It was a good value, clean, and the location was perfect--just next to the Oslo Central Station and Karl Johan Gate.

If travelling form the airport with baggage and children the location is very useful as next to the main station.

Scandic Byporten has a great location next to the Oslo S railway station at the beginning of the shopping street.

The hotel location is almost perfect: at the beginning of the main shopping street, it is 100 m from the central station, where you can get the metro (subway) and, also, the express train going to the airport (thicket: 20 euro).

The city is pretty compact and easy to navigate on foot or by subway/tram/bus.

The room was large by most European standards with a comfy bed and spacious bathroom.

The room was quite small but had everything in it you need for a comfortable stay, decent bed, shower room, tv and plenty of cupboard space.

The room, while not luxurious, was more than acceptable with a good bed and very clean.

Some of the room features are very nice, such as heated bathroom floor and some rooms have very beautiful views of the Fjords.

Rooms very basic and when we checked in the receptionist made a big fuss about our room having a bath.

The included breakfast was good in a restaurant adjacent to the hotel - it's worth filling up on the free food since Olso is so expensive (lunch - a very basic sandwich, chocolate bar and drink which we shared cost the equivalent of?

The breakfast place is the hotel restaurant which serves lunch and dinner and had an outdoor patio.

Breakfast is served in an adjacent restaurant, offers a wide range of food and was nice apart from the lukewarm scrambled eggs and the frozen berries.

The breakfast at the Egon restaurant was outstanding!

Friendly, helpful, and very efficient staff at the front desk.

The reception staff all gave helpful information about the city and were very friendly.

Make sure you enroll in the free HHonors membership and get free soup between 6 to 9 pm in the lobby.

As a Hilton Honors member, I got free bottled water at check-in and there are 2 free use computers with internet access in the lobby.

Elevator needs your key to move up, so, you feel very safe.

Hotel has 2 PCs in the lobby and free Internet (wired and wireless) in the rooms free of charge.

Overall a nice hotel, I liked the hardwood floors and the free high-speed internet access.

The room was clean and tidy however it was very very small.
