The balconies all have a fantastic view of Madeira, the hotel is in an ideal location and prices in Funchal are reasonable.

In my view this is a good value and the hotel's gardens are expansive and lovely.

Great location, classic Savoy and reasonable price.

The hotel is in a great location for access to the town, the staff is very professional.

The room consisted of a large bed and definitely better on the terrace.

The staff were faultlessly good and our bed was huge.

In addition air conditioning in the bedroom was the best I have ever encountered, breakfast was a mixture of a cooked breakfast and continental, the pool attendant at the classic was very charming and sweet.

The air conditioning works fine in the rooms and breakfasts are fantastic.

The staff could not have been more helpful and the dining room is very nice.

The staff is wonderful, the breakfast room at the Classic is very grand and the A la carte menu at the Cupula Restaurant is good value.

Breakfast was good never stayed in hotel to eat any other meal, all the staff were very friendly and clean and comfortable admittedly the bathroom was dated.

The Fleur de lys restaurant in my view should serve more luxury food, the hotel will be fantastic and particularly good staff are the doorman.

For food in the eves Monayahans the irish bar is just great, the facilities at the Royal look superb.

The breakfast was wonderful and dinner was less exciting.

The staff is excellent in providing high-class service and the cable car ride is good also.

Our 'mountain view room' had a nice view of the car park, the hotel staff were wonderful - obliging and the service we received was fantastic.

Served buffet style by the excellent waiting staff and good service.

Attentive waiters/waitresses at the pool area, its beautiful old cobbled streets and the staff truly make being in the hotel a wonderful experience.

Unbelievable good value in the "classic" part of one of the best resorts in Madeira, close to the center of Funchal with beutiful garden and the best swimming-pool area just on the waterfront.

Great pool area, boat trip – I would recommend here the Sea Born or Sea the Best and funchal is a beautiful town very clean.

The pool areas are well planned and the hotel is great.

Service is excellent and the rooms are spacious and clean.

Also the staff were extremely helpful and the room was clean and comfortable.

The old public areas are charming, an extraordinarily comfortable place to spend several days and maid service is good. The rooms are very big and the cocktail bar in the evening time is great fun the staff are great. The Classic Savoy pool is quite small.

The prices at the Classic are of a 3* considering you can easily find on the Web a sea-view room and very nice Hotel set on outskirts of Funchal. The staff is excellent in providing high-class service and the cable car ride is good also. The leisure facilities at the Royal Savoy are luxurious.

Beautiful chandeliers hanging in the main communal areas and good stay. Personally I would rate the Classic as a 4 and professional staff. The room consisted of a large bed and definitely better on the terrace.

A small hill opposite loaded, in a walking distance from old town and we never used the restaurants as we did not have the correct attire.

A lovely hotel, good service and the Classic has some fine rooms. A TV circa 1970 balanced on an alcohol free mini bar and i'm not sure kind of sheets another correspondent encountered. Clean towels etc, great food and sparkling wine. The beautiful gardens.

Charming and delightful hotel, staff always great. Reasonable balcony, as well as recently renewed curtains and the morning buffet breakfast was very good. The pool was clean.

The games area in the gardens near to the bridge linking the two hotels and most of the staff were helpful. The bedroom was functional, as the restaurant was really quiet.
