It's really a shame becuase the hotel is in a perfect location (15 mins from Disney, 25 from Universal) and you don't have to pay an astronomical amount of money to get spacious accommodations.
The kitchen and livingroom were wonderful for us to cook and relax to save money instead of staying in a conventional hotel room.
I was put off my some of the negative reviews that I read before my trip, so I thought I'd write and say that I think this Doubletree is a terrific value and a great alternative to typical "hotel" accomodations.
We took the shuttle to a theme park last year and it wasn't quite Disney transportation because it has many stops at many different hotels but it was included in the room price and was on time!
The location is fantastic, close to the theme parks and with a great selection of shops and places to eat on your doorstep.
Excellent location close to everthing we needed but quiet at night good for families.
Great location and beautiful accommodations.
The grounds are kept perfectly and the location is central to shopping and restaurants.
I am sure that this has been and will again be a lovely resort and I have no hesitation in saying that when the refurbished villas are up and running it will be a wonderful retreat in a fabulous location.
We had a full kitchen, 2 full baths, living/dinning room with TV, and two bedrooms-with one having two full size beds and the other one had a queen size bed with TV.
Spent a week here in Sept',myself,partener & 2 teenagers in a 1 bedroomed "villa",Had a queensize bed in main b/room and 2 q/sizes in the 2nd b/room,there's lots of space & storage compared to Spain and home,2 bathrooms(bonus!
There were 2 bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom and a separate bedroom downstairs with its own bathroom.
There was one bedroom downstairs with a bathroom and the other two bedrooms were upstairs along with the other bathroom.
The sofa made into a queen sized bed; two bathrooms.
Has Game room, bar and the restaurant, computer room ($), laundry on premises.
I ate at there so called restaurant and none of the food I had tasted fresh.
My kids had fun in the hotel playground, the pool was accomodating after our hot Disney day and they have the cutiest Restaurant and Lounge.
The dining table/bar in the kitchen is weird, but it was workable for 5 days but I would not want to do it much beyond that.
We ate at the breakfast buffet once and it was fine and inexpensive.
The grounds, the service, the staff and the rooms were all great.
The staff was okay, but when I asked the concierge for directions to an ice cream shop, I was told he had just started and couldn't assist me.
Front desk staff really did not help at all.
We enjoyed the pool, the basketball court, spa, fitness center, and the business center.
If your plans are going to the fitness room (10’ x 10’ with two pieces of broken equipment), hanging by the pool and having an enjoyable meal in the dining room you will be disappointed.
The grounds are very nice and the pool and spa looked clean as well.
The only amenity that we valued was the wireless internet and the coin-op laundry.
The one bedroom villa that we stayed in was clean and tidy, that included the kitchen area.
The rooms were clean and I never heard my neighbors.
The beds were clean, although my pillowcase was stained, and parking was free.
The rooms and the complex in general are "worn" - I wouldn't call it in horrible or even bad shape, but they aren't as clean and updated as the Disney properties or other more expensive properties.
The staff were always nice, and the rooms were very clean.

The staff were really helpful & friendly. The maid service was great, they even loaded the dishwasher and put it on (admitdly it was a bit of a waste when there were only 2 cups!
