Sandpiper Hotel

The location was good for my purpose and i felt the place was really well managed.

We wanted a night away (escape from kids), but were disappointed with hotel location and room.

We stayed at The Sandpiper on the outskirts of Chesterfield which was close enough for convenience but without the usual noise you get in a town centre location.

Inside the room wasn't much different, decor outdated, a huge hole in the door with a footprint quite clear in it and a tv almost on the ceiling which you couldn't watch without lying flat on the bed and staring up.

We were given a double room (we had the lower floor room of 3) the room itself had poor furnishing and decor and was like a chalet; the walls were tinged yellow and the bath and toilet hadnt been cleaned for what seemd the entire year.

Anyway, we settled in and put on the heating and had a quick rest in a really cheap and uncomfortable bed.

Good price/quality ratio, friendly staff and clean rooms bathroom may need decorating in the near future.

The hotel was at best quarter full, the staff were all very helpful and friendly, cleanhotel the bed was the most comfortable ever.

The place is lovely and clean, the staff are very friendly and, above all, the food in Fanshawe's Restaurant was superb.

Although we arrived at 9pm, they held the chef back so we could get a bar meal.

Anyway, for the New Years Eve 'dinner dance' the pre dance meal in the same restaurant as the previous evening (fanshawes).

The room was cosy and comfortable, restaurant charming with good food and friendly service.

The lady serving breakfast was very efficient.

All the staff at The Sandpiper Hotel were helpful and friendly, service really was good, recently refurbshed the room was clean.

The hotel staff were very helpful, the service was generally good and the room we had was warm.

The service was generally good but, due to our stay coinciding with a wedding reception, the breakfast service in the morning was a bit overwhelmed and therefore slow.

We checked out, when i took the key back, there was nobody on reception but I did see all the staff enjoying breakfast!

The staff were friendly and very helpfull (one young waitress called Sue was particularly helpfull and gave use instructions on how to find the 'plague' village of Eyam).

Very good rates at the hotel for this time of year and the staff are very friendly.

A good value for the money and staff very pleasant.

Reasonable decor, pleasant staff and the room was clean and tidy.
