Lovely and quirky hotel with European style. Great location for sight-seeing, and food finding.

Parking is a real hassle, better to get there on public transportation.

The hotel has an old world atmosphere.

Don't use this hotel over the weekend if you want to sleep. It gets very noise from Friday onwards and you need to ensure you lock the door.

Convenient location with just few minutes walk to Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, and Ghiradelli Square. The price is not bad and the staffs are very friendly and are willing to help with anything you need. The room's small but comfortable for my boyfriend and me.

There is no private bathrooms and some rooms don't have sinks (we didn't) but it's nothing we can't handle. The room is really small and sometimes you can hear something outside of the rooms. But I wouldn't know since I'm deaf.

The Hotel has a great atmosphere and great location close enough to walk to china town/City lights for culture and food. Victorian charm, wood panneling, wild plants, chintz mixed with 70s psych-rock posters. Handsome and vertiginous iron bedsteads were fine for us but would seem very small for larger guests. Likewise the room was tiny but did suit our needs for one night - could just fit in pop-up cot for the little one.

Very clean rooms, cute, quiet, and quaint.

Rooms are a bit small, but given the price it's a way better deal compared to a hostel bunk bed.

The location in North Beach is great, close to several public transport stops, including a cable cart. The interior of the hotel is very charming.

I slept on the first floor, yet, no noice from the restaurant downstairs, but I could hear people from the second floor walking around during the night. Take earplugs (I forgot mine), and you should be fine.

      • Couple

More of a luxury hostel than a hotel. Worth the extra expense for the unique interiors and location alone.

You get what you expect - tiny rooms, communal bathroom etc. - only a negative if you're looking for a proper hotel.

This hotel has a perfect situation, 10 minutes walking to Pier 39 and 33 for the Alcatraz Cruises. Dowtown is at reach as well. I would certainly recomend this hotel.

The rooms are a bit tiny, but for a few days, who cares :)

This Hotel was one of the best places I have stayed in. The staff was very freindly and helpfull. I even enjoyed a free up grade to my room at the staff's suggestion not my own. Very cozy and also very quite. I would totally recomend this hotal to others.

The San Remo offers comfortable and homey accomodations for a bargain price. After the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, and nearby attractions, the hotel was a quiet, comfortable, welcoming place to regroup and rest. The place is a treasure trove of San Francisco history and culture as well. Unless you like chi-chi, stay here.
