  Warm and friendly staff, beautiful building, great location--5 blocks to the stadium and 3 to dozens of great restaurants-- self parking can be a little tight but the service alone makes you forget about that! Everyone WANTS to assist you--the bellman recommended food places.

  This makes it an excellent location to catch the fireworks. The hotel lobby is nicely done, and doesn't show its age. Best Asset is its location - rooms are very very average.

  Although this hotel was renovated in 2004, the rooms are well below average for a marriott. The bathroom appears to be outdated also.

  Fairly typical large, convention-type hotel, but with great location downtown, As mentioned in other reviews, while the location is great, the noise from the trains can be annoying. Based on the prior recommendations, we requested a bay-facing room. I noticed that rooms in the north tower all appeared to have balconies if that matters to anyone. We avoided the hotel restaurant breakfast and went to a local pancake house a few blocks away which was fine. Overall, the great location near Petco Park, Gaslight District and the Seaport area more than made up for any shortcomings from the noise.

  Wonderful pool area for a hotel on that location--great for adults and kids. There is valet parking, depending on the wait it may be worth it. Nice: The room and bathroom were nice but nothing memorable.

  Enjoyed a fabulous view of downtown San Diego from my room on the 25th floor. The room was clean and comfortable, I won't be staying here again.

  Attended an event at the Conference Center next door; great location to be. Also, in comfortable walking distance to all al-fresco restaurants.

  Rooms pretty big but especially bathrooms need an urgent touch of modernisation.

  There is no shuttle from the airport to this hotel. While waiting for our bags at the airport, I called the Courtyard Marriott and they said they'd be happy to send a shuttle for us if we were staying there. We took a taxi which cost us less than the shuttle.

  I'm up writing because we haven't been able to sleep for the past 2 nights because of the incredibly noisy conditions outside the window. This morning we called at 4 am and were told that we would be moved at 10 am to a quieter room. We are hoping that we do indeed get a new room as we are completely exhausted and not looking forward to the next 6 days of this trip.

  The location is fabulous - next to marina and Seaport Village. We loved everything about this hotel - our room (corner room in south tower with wonderful city and bay views), pool (beautiful resort-style), lobby and grounds. The staff was especially pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel, particularly the corner rooms (book a city view and request a "40 series" room in the south tower, upper floor - fabulous!

  Usually I laugh when I read the “great pool scene” rating on when I’m putting together a review. Swimming is my preferred exercise and the pool is generally an over-chlorinated, overheated pit in the basement. The Marriot has a huge pool, and the poolside is so popular there’s a sign prohibiting reserving beach chairs. The patrons were mostly 20-somethings, hanging out with each other and enjoying the great poolside bar. Our room, on the 21st floor, was comfortable and kept clean (although sometimes it wasn’t serviced till early afternoon). The room did appear to be well-soundproofed against noises in other rooms.
