San Carlos Hotel New York - 纽约

Convenient location with several good restaurants nearby and the subway only one block away.

I enjoyed the location immensely, the neighborhood provides anything you need or want, from a beautiful 24 hour corner store to a couple great restaruants.

Lastly, the location is great, close to anything.

This was a convenient location for touring the city by foot, subway, or doubledecker tour bus.

The doorman went to the corner for us to locate a taxi and set up a car service for us to get to the airport.

The room was huge with a pristine bathroom and was actually two rooms with one containing two beds and one containing a sofa bed and this when made into a bed was a perfectly comfortable bed.

When we checked in we were upgraded to a room I had not seen online, a one bedroom suite with a king bed and an additional half bath.

We had a one bedroom suite, which included two small but comfortable rooms, one containing a sofa bed, table and chairs, and kitchette area (sink, microwave, fridge), and the bedroom containing a nice bed and lovely bathroom.

I went back to reception and explained that we booked the hotel because the rooms looked spacious and comfortable but our bed was hard and our room was tiny!

The bedroom had 2 double beds and the lounge had a double sofa bed.

As you are likely to be eating a huge lunch in a deli/restaurant (bearing in mind NY portion sizes!

The breakfast bar was nice but could of use a little more variety by the 3rd morning.

I guess it was lacking in facilities compared to some of the giant firms, there is no pool or hotel bar/restaurant, but in New York you only have to step outside the hotel to find whatever you are looking for so we were not bothered at all by this.

No bar or restaurant directly in hotel, but an Indian Restaurant is attached and provides room service.

Mint, the restaurant next door is terrific (Indian cuisine).

We did miss having an official concierge - although the front desk staff tries, they made a couple of just so-so recommendations.

We found the front desk staff to be very helpful upon check-in, but were extremely disappointed in another front desk staff person who failed to act or react when I called to vehemently complain about a peeping mini-bar employee.

You could walk in to the lobby, go up the lift to your room without seeing another guest.

The gym was small but I thought it was brilliant, each station is equipt with a tv so you can watch while you work out.

Parking was right next door at a valet type garage, for a discounted $30 for a 24 hr period, not bad at all.

Also save $ because internet is included (wireless all over!

If you simply can’t leave the lap-top at home, there is wireless access throughout the hotel.

The rooms were large for NYC standards and absolutely spotless.

The room was very nicely furnished and clean although a little on the small side - we thought nothing of this (it is in NY after all!

Did I mention the rooms were very clean, and the staff was both friendly and helpful?

The room was clean, housekeeping ere through by noon each day, the guys on the front desk were good and the doormen were excellent.

Room was big enough for all of us, very clean, and the staff was friendly (not the in-your-face type).
