Good location near Tian Fu Square.
Rough bathroom. Not really a guest house but part of an adjoining Chinese hotel...somewhat deceptive that way.

in the centre of the city. friendly and heplfull staff.
There were no repairs in the room for a long time. Mould in the bathroom, poor cleaning (someone's hair in the shower, gray tattered towels)

day time staff was very helpful and resourceful as well. Downstairs room with windows facing courtyard garden was very quiet. Not so for those upstairs with windows facing car park. It was very handy to be able to leave luggage with this guesthouse as we did a side trip for a few days away from Chengdu. Many tours can easily be organised by staff.
First 2 nights we stayed in upstairs room with windows facing car park. These rooms are not for those who are slight sleepers as any noise from the carpark just came through so loud and clear in the middle of the night.

The girls at reception were great and very helpful. Mr Su, our driver got us to pandas, leshan and airport safely and in comfort. They are great with kids and I would definitely recommend them! Will be back!

This hostel definitely has a great atmosphere. If you never were to a Chinese hostel, this is probably the best one in Chengdu to try out. Rooms have Aircon (make sure you turn it on asap and know how to handle the remote which is in Chinese), are relatively large with own bathroom. What makes the place special is: - Angie Wang, who's very good with her English, capable to organize trips, help out around the city, and give you lots of insider information. You don't need to stay at the hostel, to go there and ask her for help. If she's not there, there are some other girls with reasonable English too, also very kind. But Angie is the best. - Atmosphere: the hostel is in an old-style building with a beautiful garden, has a tearoom used by locals and own cook (he just sits there and will cook what you ask him to do, if he's got the ingredients). - Location: some 300m from the pedestrian zone and raiway station 1 & 2 (People's square). - Free wifi all over the place
Our room smelled and was definitely not clean. But, this is something you'll encounter in all Chinese hostels so if you aren't too touchy, the place is fine and definitely cheap. We had to fight our door a bit, but everything worked out in the end. The tearoom can be noisy till approx. 10-10.30 P.M., but with earplugs or when going to bed later, this was no issue.

The position, in the center of the city and close to the underground station.
The room was a little "decadent".

Well it's a great place to stay if you're on budget. I enjoyed my stay there. The fact that there was mosquitoes but it wasn't that bad.

Sam's guesthouse is located in a beautiful old herritage building which also houses a tea house set out in stunning ornamental gardens. It is located very close to the main square and the metro and airport bus drop off point, about a 5-10 minute walk. The staff (especially Sunny) were extremely helpful and spoke english very well. You are also able to organise tours through the guesthouse and we took one to the panda research station which we really enjoyed.
Given the age of the building, the rooms are a little run down and smell a bit of water damage. The noise from the teahouse can be a bit loud during the evenings, especially when there are majhong games going on, but overall these small things did not affect our stay at all.

It is located in the central point of Chengdu with just few minutes walking to the metro station and some resteurants and shops.
I booked a singel room 5 weeks before I came to Chengdu via Booked.net. Than I called them 1 day before to confirm my staying. The stuff was not aware of my booking! Therefore I booked via phone but the next day when I came to the hostel thay applogize that thay forget about my booking via Booked.net. I was staying there 5 night and each evining I had to validate my kya card, even no one informed me that I should do that each day! Further the cleaning girl entered every morning around 9.30 p.m. even that I placed information:not disturb on the door.

Angie and the staff were very helpful and nice, but the service was awful. The towels were like sandpaper, and the toilets smelled, and the pillows reaked of "humicity?" But when paying 140 y a night, what can one expect. The staff did their best; I had a hair dryer and tea aker on arrival, but when I checked out and returned, neither. The linens are not very "clean" or pleasant...the staff is noisy, at early hours of the morning, shouting....the staff does not seem to respect the client. The coffee is good, and the cooking is good, but hardly any body eats in the cafe, so it is not what is expected in a hostel, where one will meet fellow travellers. The primary clients are chinese not weiguoren, and they are treated more courteously. [Ppebocooeheperson
The attitude of indifference to making the guest feel welcome. When the accommodations are minimal, it would be nice to be more hospitable. Angie was a good example of someone who made an effort. I would look for a better location next time. The only advntage is that the air port buss is nearby.

The hosts are really nice persons and helpful, don´t hesitate to book some trips with them, they dont take a big fee on it. They will do anything they can to help you. The location is perfect.
The maid knocked the door one time at 11.00 and entered directly in the room while we were sleeping, even if we´d stay several nights and had put the sign ¨do not disturb¨on the door. In every Hotel in the world if you put that sign it is that you really do not want to be disturbed. She did that 3 times.

Hotel is centrally located for visiting Chengdu and there are a lot of tours/activities that can be arranged via the front office.
Hotel is looking a bit jaded. Plumbing can be unreliable and if the weather is bad watching the tv in your room is fine so long as you understand Chinese.
